yeah i noticed it didnt have the red stitching also, maybe someone didnt like it......i dont like the mats that come with the eddy 30 so threw mine in the cupboard and got some standard ones.

Post by: damoegan on September 22, 2010, 02:56:04 pm
The wheel is the standard one as far as I know. Might be because it's a 56 plate!!

The wheels were dine at A1 wheels by the previouse owner.

Cheers Ben. I went for P-Tourqe mate. I had Will's stage 1 & 2 on my Ibiza and was close by after picking up the ED30 so thought why not....

Also just fitted a Forge DV. Pics to follow..

Title: Re: Damo's ED30
Post by: damoegan on October 27, 2010, 03:45:33 pm
Thr P-Flo is a great fit and very easy to do (I'm a engineer so I would say that  :signLOL: ). The hardest part is actualy removing the OEM turbo inlet pipe. If I had to do one again it would prob only take me 20-25 mins....

On normal every day driving its very quite, there's more of a induction noise but very subtle with a nice little cherp from the DV (not loud though).
When you open the taps there is a lovely deeper induction growl and a nice crisp DV cerp and a bit of wastgate flutter

I personaly feel that the filter is a little too small so I'll prob change it out for a large Green Cotton filter at some point, but thats just me being picky..

I dont think it would be worth doing a vid as it wont do it justis.

Excellent :) thanks Damo

Would you reccommend it then? Noticed a change in power/ throttle responce?
Title: Re: Damo's ED30
Post by: damoegan on October 27, 2010, 04:06:28 pm
Yea, deffo recommend it for the price as its half the price of the Firge & ITG offerings

Throttle responce does seam better/crisper and  power feels stronger across the whole rev range  :happy2:

Hi Matt

Yea, I'm still very happy with the P-Flo intake. It has definitly gave a increase in hp, has a nice sound and its half the price of the Forge/ITG offerings

The only thing I would say is that when its time to replace the filter I will replace it with a larger filter (prob Green Coton) as I think the standard one could be a little bigger

Just gave the car a good wash in preperation for the RR day at the weeken

Started with a good wash with some Zaino Z-7 using the 2 bucket method.
Followed by a good drying with a i4detailing premium towel.
Then I clayed it with i4detailing Ultra Fine Detailing Clay.
Followed by another wash and dry.
Then it was time for some DoDoJuice Lime Prime.
After the LIme Prime it was time for some wax, out came the DoDo Juice Purple Haze.
And to top it all off was a nice coat of Mags NTX

No, is not been on PDT's rollers, Geof.

Power at the wheels was 293bhp. Which isn't too far out....

A lot of the higher powered cars had problems with traction on the rollers due to VERY cold tyres and also poor tyres..
Even mine was spinning up in 4th

It was freezing outside but it was actualy warm inside the dyne, Dave. The temp probe for the dyne was quite close to the cars..

Is yours stage one?

Stage 1 mate..

I know my results are not right, realisticly +30-40bhp out... Just posted the graphs for a laugh realy (although they are nice enough graphs if you dont look at the numbes (or the clutch slip..))..

22nm.  Its best to use new bolts and tighten them down a few turns on each bolt until they are all nipped up and torque in the sequence stated with the cover.

I Joined my local club www.heacham-manor.co.uk started playing again in May after 6 years off (I was a 20 handicap back then), 6 lessons later and got my handicap of 12!, problem is tho to play to it means new driver (TM R11, new Putter and new lob wedge and i can just about manage it every other round lol). shhhh
Im still running the GTI, i normally run a winter hack but sadly its engines vvt unit killed the head and i have not fixed it due to time and its probably not worth it from a financial point spending that much on it. Beeen looking for its replacment but been conned once on ebay of a deposit and a completely missleading description (warning ebay/paypal don't cover cars with buyer protection)
I sold my snow tyres for the GTI last year as i did not use it over the winter i now wish i had kept them.
I also have to take my GTI to Benfield sometime this week for a part to be fitted so i hope it does not snow.

I contemplated another winter hack or snow tyres but not got round to getting either due to the weather being so miled upto now.

With me only travelling to the Valley every day now I'm hoping I'll be ok for this year. I'm planning on trying to get some steelies with winter tyres on for next year  :happy2:

TBH, I've drove loads of cars with xenon's but the ones on my Eddy are the best I have ever seen.. Every time I drive the Mrs' GT Sport I have to keep checking that the lights are actualy turned on  :signLOL:

The reason i asked is they look a different brightness and colour to other mk5 GTI xenons i have seen and its how i know its your car from the front in the dark by the lights.

I spotted you at the junction earlier,  Mind i was not sure if it was yours as your car was dirty  :P
But the lights gave it away as you came up the road.
On Friday i took a half day and the hobson bank was sheet ice as it was also along the Hobson, A BMW X3 and clio had gone off the road on the bank and it took me over 30mins to just get along the hobson as everyone was sliding due to the frozen surface it was tail backs in both directions.

Tell me about it mate. I was off Friday afternoon (well, I actualy finished at 10:00  :signLOL:). Done a few chores on the valley and as I started heading home the snow started.. I then had to go through to South Shields to take the grandparents out and it took me over an hour to get through

Was meant to be playing golf at the Hobson today  :signLOL: Think I'll go to the pub and watch the match instead  :drinking: But we are off to friends tonight over in Wolsingham, hope we dont get any more snow as its gets BAD over there  :sad1:

Just for my own reference RE poor sound from MDI..

Damo you need to take the stereo out and also take the blue plug out of the bigger black quadlock, once its out take the housing off the blue plug and take pin 2 out and put it back into pin 3, the earth is in a different place from gen 2 unit to gen3 unit.

At sunny side by any chance?
They forgot to put a ramp at one end the other week was a sraight cut in the road so like hitting a wall or high curb. I will be suprised if I have not broke something or bent all my wheels at least the bang and shudders it made when I hit it in the gti. Felt worse than a car crash!  I had some idiot tailgating so was watching him and hit it at near 30 mph  :sad1:  I was told by someone else a mk4 golf hit it too and it dumped all his oil so wwas standed at the road side.

I drove a DSG R32 the other day for the first time...

Lots of peeps over the way think the standard pipe sounds better than a Milltek, if that's what you're getting at. Apparently the non res is better, but drones at motorway speeds.

....I am fairly confident it's a DSG because that's the main reason why Damo sold his Ed30 - He needed a DSG because of foot problems(?).

No not necessarily Milltek but if so, the Non-Res is always louder than the Resonated version. I thought that Milltek had sorted their early drone problems.

Sounds nice, love the sound of the r32.
I'm hoping to get a 123d or a 135i coupe, worst senario is a nissan juke nismo with staff discount....
Had it 2 1/2 years now, so feel like a change

Damo......... I Can't help but think when I look at your Sig, that maybe you've made a mistake........! :ashamed:

Was it the grey one on the right that was aggravating your knee or could it have been too much of the red white & black number on the left that was to blame.....!!

Either way I'm glad it's ended well for you - I'm off to buy more shares in Shell
