What software did you go for?
-
yeah i noticed it didnt have the red stitching also, maybe someone didnt like it......i dont like the mats that come with the eddy 30 so threw mine in the cupboard and got some standard ones.
-
The wheel is the standard one as far as I know. Might be because it's a 56 plate!!
The wheels were dine at A1 wheels by the previouse owner.
Cheers Ben. I went for P-Tourqe mate. I had Will's stage 1 & 2 on my Ibiza and was close by after picking up the ED30 so thought why not....
Also just fitted a Forge DV. Pics to follow..

Looks brilliant mate :happy2:
Any chance of a small review/ videos?
-
Thr P-Flo is a great fit and very easy to do (I'm a engineer so I would say that :signLOL: ). The hardest part is actualy removing the OEM turbo inlet pipe. If I had to do one again it would prob only take me 20-25 mins....
On normal every day driving its very quite, there's more of a induction noise but very subtle with a nice little cherp from the DV (not loud though).
When you open the taps there is a lovely deeper induction growl and a nice crisp DV cerp and a bit of wastgate flutter
I personaly feel that the filter is a little too small so I'll prob change it out for a large Green Cotton filter at some point, but thats just me being picky..
I dont think it would be worth doing a vid as it wont do it justis.
-
Excellent :) thanks Damo
Would you reccommend it then? Noticed a change in power/ throttle responce?
-
Yea, deffo recommend it for the price as its half the price of the Firge & ITG offerings
Throttle responce does seam better/crisper and power feels stronger across the whole rev range :happy2:
-
Have u fitted the plaque yet?
-
Have u fitted the plaque yet?
Just done it, Rich. Put it on the drivers door as per the instructions..
-
Sweet... gonna put mine on tomorrow!
Just been out to put it on... 3 years of being sat in a box in MK has taken its toll of the sticky 3M strip! It wont stick on! :scared:

-
Oooooo Schalter Pr0n!! :happy2:
Cruise is a winner... i wouldnt be without it!
-
I've just put a deposit down on a steel grey ed30, love the powercoated wheels and the lowered look, and like the tints on the rear, the oem tints, are within the glass? I've not even got the car yet, and am thinking what I can change :)
-
Not had a chance to get the cruise fitted yet due to the snow :sad1:

Hi Matt
Yea, I'm still very happy with the P-Flo intake. It has definitly gave a increase in hp, has a nice sound and its half the price of the Forge/ITG offerings
The only thing I would say is that when its time to replace the filter I will replace it with a larger filter (prob Green Coton) as I think the standard one could be a little bigger
Damien
-
Cool Cool, well will just have give it a few days to see if i can pick up something second hand otherwise its a little call to awesome-gti:-)

Its on the RR next weekend so will have a comparison
-
Just gave the car a good wash in preperation for the RR day at the weeken
Started with a good wash with some Zaino Z-7 using the 2 bucket method.
Followed by a good drying with a i4detailing premium towel.
Then I clayed it with i4detailing Ultra Fine Detailing Clay.
Followed by another wash and dry.
Then it was time for some DoDoJuice Lime Prime.
After the LIme Prime it was time for some wax, out came the DoDo Juice Purple Haze.
And to top it all off was a nice coat of Mags NTX

Do you know what was the at the wheels reading?
Have you had it on the PDT dyno yet?
No, is not been on PDT's rollers, Geof.
Power at the wheels was 293bhp. Which isn't too far out....
A lot of the higher powered cars had problems with traction on the rollers due to VERY cold tyres and also poor tyres..
Even mine was spinning up in 4th

Just for my clarification... is the quoted 230PS for the edition at the wheels?
-
No, thats at the flywheel, Rich..
-
Was it a warm day down in North yorkshire yesterday? Graph shows 15.3 degrees?
-
No, thats at the flywheel, Rich..
Is yours stage one?
-
Was it a warm day down in North yorkshire yesterday? Graph shows 15.3 degrees?
It was freezing outside but it was actualy warm inside the dyne, Dave. The temp probe for the dyne was quite close to the cars..
Is yours stage one?
Stage 1 mate..
I know my results are not right, realisticly +30-40bhp out... Just posted the graphs for a laugh realy (although they are nice enough graphs if you dont look at the numbes (or the clutch slip..))..
-
Ahh i see now! :signLOL:
The power deliver does look very linear! :happy2:
-
Yep, its a VERY smooth map and just look at how well it holds torque
-
Nice high resuts
Was yours the car at the front of the shop? I like the colour of the pescaras, same shade I'm hoping to get mine done this year :happy2:
-

Here's a pic that someone else took when it was in the que to go on the rollers..

Being Dastek rollers then the figures must be 100% correct! lol!
Going back to page 5, the car looks damn tasty after the wash. :drinking:
-
:signLOL:
I know its not running 350bhp Alex, its all just a bit of fun realy
It was a strange day as all the lower powered cars (sub 300bhp) were spot on power and torque wise. Good old dyno lottery :drinking:
Thanks for the kind comments mate :happy2:
-
I would put it all down to the wheel spin you mentioned.
The Dastek comment was an in house tuner joke with a certain tuner.
-
Wouldn't be a tuner in Wolverhampton or Essex would it
I've never had any problems running on Dastek rellers in the past, always seam to of given 'believable' numbers....
-
Fitted some new sparks today along with a new cam follower. Good job too as the sparks were at the end of there life...

....It's a good maintenance practice to change plugs every 20k miles on a tuned 2.0T FSI.
-
TBH Robin, I never stick to the correct service intervals... Normaly half what the book says :happy2:
-
Twice as often?
-
Yup, well for the usual stuff anyway..
Oil & filter every 6 months and sparks every 10k

A good practice imo. Its served my mk1 well in 27 years.

Car made 300bhp & 320lb/ft at RS Tuning (Dyno Dynamics roller) today....
Looks more like 298.2 bhp and 316 ft/lb to me
In all seriousness though, looks like a very nice graph, good strong midrange and lots of low down power to match :happy2:
I have been told another ed30 wasnt so good on the day?
-
Yea, I didn't know the 'exact' numbers off the top of my head Dave :ashamed:
Aye, it was Dom with the poor results (again)...

Just need to find the time to fit it now :sad1:

I know that feeling. The hybrid just stares at me wondering if its ever going to be allowed out to play.
-
Look forward to seeing your results once you get it on :happy2:
Alex, do you know what the cover plate bolts need to be torqued up to?
-
22nm. Its best to use new bolts and tighten them down a few turns on each bolt until they are all nipped up and torque in the sequence stated with the cover.
-
Thanks mate, new bolts are on order along with release bearing :happy2:
-
Looks lovely, cant wait to find an ED30 myself

I Joined my local club www.heacham-manor.co.uk started playing again in May after 6 years off (I was a 20 handicap back then), 6 lessons later and got my handicap of 12!, problem is tho to play to it means new driver (TM R11, new Putter and new lob wedge and i can just about manage it every other round lol). Well winter break now so time to spend money on cars

Im interested in this aswell. When I went to the dealers, the only one they showed me for £40 mark was a polystyrene foan one. They wanted $65 for a plastic one :stupid:

Thanks, Geof
Its was £45 and it is made of foam, Dom. Realy worth it though, I think :happy2:

£15k and its yours
It took me ages to find it, its the exact spec I wanted ie. fully loaded. Not many ED30's around with the spec mine has, pretty sure the only options it dont have is DSG, R32 style seats and BT :happy2:

Almost same spec i think as mine damo, except mine are retro xenon and a few more doors. :signLOL:

You know, when I was looking for a ED30 I wanted black as my first colour, then silver, then grey. Went to see a few black ones but they turned out to be either dogs (one turned out to be a cat D) or peverty spec. Couldnt find the right silver one, then came across this one, fell on live with the colour when I seen it in the metal
-
Love it mate :happy2:
-
Looking nice damo, bet you can't wait for the gritters to hit the roAds :drinking:
I have to keep coming to the site to remind me of what my car looks like. :sad1:

Looking at the weather today it looks like I might get some snow next week Dom, not looking forward to that

Deffo think we will get some snow at some point next week mate
-
shhhh
Im still running the GTI, i normally run a winter hack but sadly its engines vvt unit killed the head and i have not fixed it due to time and its probably not worth it from a financial point spending that much on it. Beeen looking for its replacment but been conned once on ebay of a deposit and a completely missleading description (warning ebay/paypal don't cover cars with buyer protection)
I sold my snow tyres for the GTI last year as i did not use it over the winter i now wish i had kept them.
I also have to take my GTI to Benfield sometime this week for a part to be fitted so i hope it does not snow.
-
Not good mate..
I contemplated another winter hack or snow tyres but not got round to getting either due to the weather being so miled upto now.
With me only travelling to the Valley every day now I'm hoping I'll be ok for this year. I'm planning on trying to get some steelies with winter tyres on for next year :happy2:

Your actualy not wrong, Andy :ashamed:
TBH, I've drove loads of cars with xenon's but the ones on my Eddy are the best I have ever seen.. Every time I drive the Mrs' GT Sport I have to keep checking that the lights are actualy turned on :signLOL:
-
The reason i asked is they look a different brightness and colour to other mk5 GTI xenons i have seen and its how i know its your car from the front in the dark by the lights.
-
When I pulled up behind you I knew it was you and thought "he's not going to know it's me behind" :signLOL:
-
I spotted you at the junction earlier, Mind i was not sure if it was yours as your car was dirty :P
But the lights gave it away as you came up the road.
On Friday i took a half day and the hobson bank was sheet ice as it was also along the Hobson, A BMW X3 and clio had gone off the road on the bank and it took me over 30mins to just get along the hobson as everyone was sliding due to the frozen surface it was tail backs in both directions.
-
Tell me about it mate. I was off Friday afternoon (well, I actualy finished at 10:00 :signLOL:). Done a few chores on the valley and as I started heading home the snow started.. I then had to go through to South Shields to take the grandparents out and it took me over an hour to get through
Was meant to be playing golf at the Hobson today :signLOL: Think I'll go to the pub and watch the match instead :drinking: But we are off to friends tonight over in Wolsingham, hope we dont get any more snow as its gets BAD over there :sad1:

Arr there. I thought it was somewere else but the street light puzzled me.
-
Just for my own reference RE poor sound from MDI..
Damo you need to take the stereo out and also take the blue plug out of the bigger black quadlock, once its out take the housing off the blue plug and take pin 2 out and put it back into pin 3, the earth is in a different place from gen 2 unit to gen3 unit.

I had some idiot tailgating so was watching him and hit it at near 30 mph :sad1: I was told by someone else a mk4 golf hit it too and it dumped all his oil so wwas standed at the road side.

.
Mk5 R32 with DSG is a sweet package :notworthy:
As Hedge advises, you have to hear that V6 better than it comes OEM.
-
Nice car Damien, You could have bought mine
-
You selling up too, Dom :surprised:
-
.
Mk5 R32 with DSG is a sweet package :
How can you tell it's DSG from a picture?
I drove a DSG R32 the other day for the first time...
As Hedge advises, you have to hear that V6 better than it comes OEM.
Lots of peeps over the way think the standard pipe sounds better than a Milltek, if that's what you're getting at. Apparently the non res is better, but drones at motorway speeds.

....I am fairly confident it's a DSG because that's the main reason why Damo sold his Ed30 - He needed a DSG because of foot problems(?).
No not necessarily Milltek but if so, the Non-Res is always louder than the Resonated version. I thought that Milltek had sorted their early drone problems.
-
You selling up too, Dom :surprised:
Will be soon mate, car is all sorted now and running like a dream, so dont feel guilty selling it private anymore :signLOL:
Whats the 'r' like compared to the Ed30 then?

Bad times mate :sad1:
What you replacing it with?
The .:R obviously doesn't have the low down grunt that you get from a turbo but its counteracted by the grip :happy2:
-
Sounds nice, love the sound of the r32.
I'm hoping to get a 123d or a 135i coupe, worst senario is a nissan juke nismo with staff discount....
Had it 2 1/2 years now, so feel like a change

-
Damo......... I Can't help but think when I look at your Sig, that maybe you've made a mistake........! :ashamed:
Was it the grey one on the right that was aggravating your knee or could it have been too much of the red white & black number on the left that was to blame.....!!
Either way I'm glad it's ended well for you - I'm off to buy more shares in Shell
