Title: New Wheel required ?
Post by: markc on September 26, 2010, 05:00:29 pm
Hi guys,

Do I need another steering wheel (DSG type), to fit the MFSW buttons I've bought recently for my manual ED30 ?  I have been told I do, but just wanted to double check etc etc.  I've bought the flipping loom now too and not sure I can justify spending on another wheel .........    :sad1:

The manual wheels wont have the cut out unless bought specifically, so yes you will need a DSG wheel or a non DSG that was designed to take the button modules.

Somebody recently bought an ED30 with a nonED30 MFSW fitted. I suspect this is one of the problems with manual cars - much more difficult to retrofit than DSG wheels which have cutouts for the flappy paddles and hollow spokes to allow fitment of tbe buttons.

You need to replace the entire wheel, unless someone corrects me.
