just new to this forum but not so new to golf gti's. did have a mk4 gti turbo and have just got hold of a mk5 gti. loving it and such an improvement on the mk4 which i loved.
Right on my mk4 i did sadly like the sound from the forge re circ i had fitted and wondered if it will sound the same on this. im booked in for stage one revo on saturday at 9.00am and cannot wait. Also have an ITG induction arriving this week and was also considering replacing the diverter valve with the D version from vw but want a bit of noise. does this have the same kind of noise or should i buy the forge and relocate it to the front.
thanks in advance and glad to be back.

The ITG will give a lot of noise so expect that will give you what your looking for.
Otherwise there is the option of the forge blow out valve but personally I think these aren't the best idea on a car with a system designed to recirc.

IMO your MUCH better off getting a proper valve that doesn't make a silly noise.
The latest revision VW one will do the job just fine. I've got a Forge (which also does the job alright) on mine but thats only because at the time when I got mine the VW ones weren't up to it.

ok many thanks guys. just an update. ive installed the itg and your right. that now gives the same noise as my other golf. dont like it too loud just wanted a bit of noise. I do have a problem though. sometimes when i drive it it pulls ok and other times it hesitates and doesnt seem to sustain boost. then after fitting the itg i can hear what sound like an increased hiss as it reaches a higher pressure. sorry that doesnt make much sense but its as if with the higher pressure there is a leak. or cus this be the diverter valve failing, as its the older type. Have ordered the d type today from vw anyway.
thanks
