Title: Standard GT headunit..... Mp3?

does it play mp3s? Not having much fun with it at the min......

I'm guessing you have the basic RCD300 in your car? What year is the car? If it's an older model GTI, it probably won't play MP3 CD's. If it's a newer model, it will actually have the letters 'MP3' on the head unit just above the CD slot to denote that it does play them.

it's a gt on a 56 plate, it has the silver buttons if that helps?

^^^ As above, will only support mp3's if it says 'mp3' on the upper centre part of head unit.

I had a unit (RCD300) with silver buttons but wasn't the mp3 supported version.

Pathetic........ mine doesn't have mp3 then, shocking, the list price on my carwas about 23k..... and the equipment you get is very poor!

Oh well, I'll get a touch screen one in there then!
