I'm sure this GTI had bumpers when I went to work this morning....

Blatantly been ripped off as there were bits of plastic on the ground on the other side of the car.
Feel sorry for the owner as it was probably one of the few places in the car park that a camera didn't seem to be pointing at.
(Chelsfield station, Kent)

WTF!
-
Bloody hell...... :surprised:
-
Can't see that they would be any good to anyone after being ripped off! :stupid:
Fookin scumbags!! :fighting:
-
that is terrible, what is the world coming to? must take some serious force to get them off without tools, terrible
-
Utter scum, im not sure why some people find it acceptable to ruin other people's hard worked for property.
Here's an idea, whoever stole that, what about dishing out the same punishment, with their face instead.
If ONLY we had a law system where these criminals actually get punished.
-
Thats takeing stealing number plates to a whole new level..... carnt believe the cheek of some poeple
-
Bit blurred but you get the gist... There is some cable hanging down and a chunk of plastic, and obviously no number plates.

If I see any silver GT's or whatever driving around with GTi bumpers (in silver) I'm going to have a word. :fighting:
-
I just don't get why someone would do this.
Surely by ripping them off they can't even fit them to their own as they will crack the mounting points etc? I'd image the alarm would have gone off too?
-
I agree, The bolts holding them on are truly in there as well, especially the ones under the bonnet. I can see how they could have taken the ones in the wheel arches out.
-
:scared:
Very scary. Fair enough the rear was exposed, but you'd have thought the front bumper was pretty much "protected" by being against the kerb.
Hope the scum die in hell. :fighting:
-
Is that where you park too Decked??? :surprised:
Things like this are gonna push the GTI up to insurance group 94 :scared:
-
how the fek did they get them off without undoing screws?!! :stupid: bumpers cant be of any use now! rank that
-
That's shocking!!
-
I guess the splitters are mostly attached to the bumpers so they might survive a bit !!, not bloody good

I agree.. Having just done a swap with Gtidaz using proper tools, took ages.4 bolts in total, ripping it off surely would scrap it?.. morons
-

No, the beast stays in the Garage!
-
Shocking :fighting:
I guess it was just some scum "doing it for a laff" as they reccon they have nothing better to do.
-
not my idea of a laff in any way! some people just have no morals. i say i would love to catch someone doing this, but the reality is thats its better not too catch them, as it would be me who got he sharp end of the stick by Mr Police Man. Scumbags.
-
Surely if it was just done for kicks they would have just smashed the car up? I think it was a piss poor attempt at nicking the GTI kit for another car - wont be much use now however.
-
Pikeys!
Did Scoobie STI owners not have this issue as you couldn't buy the rear spoiler unless you had the docs to show you actually owned one so the pikeys would just rip them off.
-
Whatever next??
Beggars belief.
I've just had new front and rears on my GTi.
Front - a re-spray due to a prang (my fault)
Rear - replaced under warranty due to a deformed section in the number plate area.
Link below will tell you all!

I was speaking to someone the other day who has a GT TDI and someone had nicked the rub strips on the bumper that contain the headlamp washer jets, his foglights and his brake ducts.....damage meant that it was well over £1k to repair and replace, so he's had to go through insurance.
There are some scum bags around :fighting:

Ooohh how werid this is on Ebay
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/golf-gti-mk5-front-bumper-/280568249210?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item41532bbb7a
Me thinks it could be from the same car ?????
-
^^^^ weird or sus ^^^^
Are the two locations within reasonable vicinity of each other?
Not sure how you'd prove the bumper came from that car though.... Not looked yet (am on phone) is the scroate also selling the rear part too?

I don't think it can be from the Gti, the one on ebay is not an original Gti front bumper. Look at the lower sections of the grill (plastic bits around fog lights etc.), the Gti has the honeycomb inserts, the one on ebay just has the standard inserts.
