Had mine done yesterday as part of the 5th year service. Worth every penny works much better & leaves a really nice smell in the car. Most main dealers have it for £75.00 but i get mine at mates rate.

-
I take it you have to ask for this seperate to your main service?

-
Is this the same as the VW aircon and cabin treatment?

 Cheers

There are 2 options... one is a 25 quid "refresh" (the one your referring to i think) and one is a full blown re-gas at 75!

..........yes mate.Recomended every 2 years, don't know when mine was last done so thought i would have it.

Thanks , I might get this done next year , as I got 2 free services when I bought the car , so I would only be paying the £75.

I would say if your ac is blowing cold then don't bother - I had it done last year and regretted it as it made hee haw difference.  If your gas is a bit low then its worth doing.  The 'refresh' side can easily be done yourself by buying the comma air con cleaner from halfrauds or similar.

Mine was cold but my mate did say the gas was a bit low so glad it done + as before i get ''mates'' rate as he works for VW.

-
Does anyone have the service part no. from VW which does the air con refresh?

-

If it ain't broke, don't bother IMO!

Besides, you can always open a window when it's hot......  :signLOL:
-
I just want to do the anti-bacteria air freshner thing buddy...  VW must use some sort of spray/fluid for this.

-
I think VW use an ultrasonic device to vapourise their fluid in the car - I have used comma air con cleaner which is an aerosol can to good effect.

Change the pollen filter while you're at it  :happy2:
-
Is the pollen filter the same as the cabin filter?  The one on the front passenger side.

Yes - in the passenger footwell behind the glovebox.

Thanks... I think I'm going to replace the cabin filter and try the Comma anti-bacterial aircon refresh canister.  Substantially cheaper than VWs charge of £25 - and they don't even change the cabin filter in that price.
