Title: Lowering my 1.6
Post by: uk_stu on October 03, 2010, 05:02:26 pm
I will be fitting some 18" BBS CH reps on my golf hopefully wednesday, and would like the car to sit similar to the standard ED30 ride height Can anybody tell me if my car will look like this as standard, or if the ED30 was fitted with factory fit lowering springs?

I understand that my engine is lighter than the ed30's is there anything that i can do?

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

just be aware that there are 50mm and 55mm strut diameter on the mk5, some of the smaller engined mk5's have 50mm while the GTI/ED30 seems to always have 55m, not sure if this affects the spring diameter also

I had some H&R lowering springs on My GTI, only cost £100, and the drop on those was about 20mm, looked very smart, and helped to get rid of the unsightly arch gap.
