Hey troops, went to put some water in the window scooshers today and found it hard to open the bonnet, the bonnet release works fine and pops the bonnet no problem at all, but when liftin the wee lever under the bonnet to fully release it, I had to really yank the bonnet for it to come up.
Any ideas what this could be its like the catch was jammin on something, but couldnt see what it could be.
Not sure if this is a common thing, and if its an easy solution to fix it, or if a new catch will be needed?
Any advice much appreciated.

Mine was like this when i first got my golf,
I found the best way to get it open was once the bonnets popped was to half push the bonnet back down as to take the pressure off the catch then try and open it up, hard to discribe really.
Once its open, pop the catch off (i belive its 2/3 13mm bolts) then shoke in wd40 and grease all the moving parts back up.

A tin of spray grease is great for getting in to all the bonnet catch workings etc.

mine was like that..just soak it in spray greese and work the bonnet handle a few times whist the bonnet is up
