Guys, you may remember a posting from myself a few weeks ago on the AMD remap I had.
240 Bhp and 264.5 lb/ft torque @ 3094 Rpm
Having had 3 tankfulls now of V-power, and a reason to visit AMD because my Milltek was rattling under severe acceleration, I decided to get the exhaust sorted and another rolling road done to put my mind at rest regarding the promised figures of extra BHP with the higher RON.
I can honestly say I'm absolutely astounded and extremely happy to post the new outputs.
So to all those on the previous thread that were laughing or dubious on the 20-25 extra gains on the BHP, my new figures are as follows :-
260.7 Bhp and 294.4 lb/ft torque @ 3102 Rpm :drinking:
So the V-power has a massive gain!!! :jumping:
All comments most welcome?

Im sure we would all like pictures and graphs! I am a believer in v power but have no experience in RR or tunning as the car is all standard, but one thing I do know is my engine is alot quieter and less tappetty when iddling on v power than any of the other fuels...
And thats a great result for an extra few pence a litre! Suppose also a bit of adjustment for the mods settling in as well but still good.
-
They did say the ECU remap was specifically done for 99 RON, so thats probably why there was such a great increase?
BTW, I'm trying to find an option on how to post pictures, but I can't work it out.......probably me being stupid. Can you tell me how to do it, then I'll post both of the graphs.
-
Iv never heard so much cr#p in all my life!
Jussa, that rusty skip of yours would fall apart doing 80!! My vans faster!! :fighting:
-
what RR was this on?? what other mods? is the milltek a TBE??

You need to upload the pictures to a photo sharing site like picasa then you, click the buttom in the post reply screen its the third from the left on the second row in my browser and paste the pic url in the middle.
-
:signLOL: Is that you Lee?
Seriously, can somebody tell me how to post the graph, where do I find the option to post a scanned pic?
-

The type im this case isn't quite so important, as both runs were done on the same rollers, so if you ignore the definitive figures and consider the difference, then you are only left with atmospheric conditions and the way the car was strapped down.
Think from the last post he has a TBE and air box.
-
Yeah its me!
I thought you were in I.T?? and you cant work out how to post pics?? :rolleye:
:signLOL:
:worthless:
-
OK, I'll try to work it out in a minute.....
Milltek turbo back and AMD remap...... :driver:
-
i dont understand then?? the figures would be spot on, as the map hadnt settled last time.
-
I'd be more inclined to look at it the other way around. An agressive map tuned to run on 99RON and we all know cars are far more happy winding back the power if the fuel it finds itself drinking isnt up to what it wants.
So i'd more put it down to having $hit 95 RON from somewhere when you got the initial reading, or it being more tightly set on 99RON making it harder for the car to adapt to the crappy 95 stuff
-
I'm busy installing Picasa now, so will have it sorted shortly!!
What a PALAVA, why can't you not just click a button to upload a pic like most sites :rolleye:
Apollo13 is correct in saying I'm in IT, but this way to upload the pics takes the biscuit :signLOL:
-

Would have been good to know what power it was putting out after settling and adaptation on the same 95, Jussa can you confirm the other mods you have on the car I cant find the previous thread to confirm if it was a TBE.
You dont need to install it Jussa you can use it within a browser, they just like to get you to have the software, you can also use it to edit details such as reg names etc out which is handy.

Below is the graph and readings :-

Not sure why they didnt show up in your post but here they are, and the atmospheric detail is great to have.

Didn't work, and I have no idea how it does work???

RichN83.....how the hell did you do that :signLOL:
-
Done it for you, not sure why it didnt work, as I could access the image url from your post very odd!!!! Looks very good, and all the atmospheric conditions are nearly the same, and it also shows the correction factor they used, so the settling adapatations and the better fuel gave an extra 20hp but importantly 30lbft of torques. :driver:
-
Sorry mate phone died,
Yeah weird, could get the urls from your last post!
All looks good though, definate improvement and conditions were the same.
Rich beat me to it!!
-

its hard to type it out but the above is the txt that clicking the picture icon above inserts I have added a space between img and the ] so it shows. think you might just have had an extra space in the url as it couldnt fetch a preview so left them as blank boxes.
Anyway the important thing is nice curves with progressive power, but importantly how does it feel? :jumping:

:signLOL: Let's just say it feels ORGASMIC :driver:
I was very close to installing their Pipercross air intake system £249.99 fitted.....they reckon that's the best for the MK5, I mentioned the Forge twintake, but they still insisted the Pipercross would be better?
Either way with or without intake I'm a happy man!!! :drinking:
-
My 2006 GTI DSG made 280 bhp on the AMD rollers on the 31/08/10. It has stage 2 AMD map, TBE and Pipercross panel filter. Always running on 99. Their readings do seem to vary a bit.
At the Skoda rolling road day at AMD in June(I think) all the cars seemed to show power readings as the owners expected. Some of the forum members were there.
I am going to JKM on Saturday so I will be very interested to see what my car shows on their rollers. Providing I get it back from the bodyshop in time.

Have a read of this for your image posting. http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,945.0.html
And i reckon with the pipercross intake your car should be seeing 340 BHP on those rollers. (https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Ftomashandmilly%2FDaft_stuff%2Fgrimace-1.jpg&hash=6f60b029566e198f512b7c5b78a88f1c0f5c421f)

i might need to look into that. have you got anymore info#? i just cannot afford a twintake or itg if i could find one lol-for the next few months(read 6-9) but i might manage 250 fitted just after crimbo....
.... esp as i have a little package arriving from dave the brake verrrrrryyyyy soooooooon woop woop :pomppomp:

mmmm i,m feeling sarcasm vibes seeping thru :signLOL:
matsu
-
:signLOL: I reckon the sarcasm is in there good and proper :P
AMD told me that I would probably only see and extra 5-10 Bhp with the Pipercross, but they reckon because of the intake the turbo would spool a lot quicker and be less restrictive! :driver:
-
nvm
-
I like AMD but I have a feeling their rollers can be a bit optimistic - although not sure that massively out, so it may be you've got lucky with your car, and maybe others would see less on the same map etc.
I had a Mk4 Ibiza Cupra make 215bhp after a remap on AMD's rollers, they are 180bhp stock admitedly, but even so, it was more the 200-205bhp that would have been expected...
That said, im not saying its right or wrong, must be a good map... Might get myself down there!

My Octy Vrs Mk1 made bang on 180 o their rollers standard and always run on V-Power then after remap made 210.
-
at the previous RR day most cars made expected figures, although i have used them before that and got humongous figures.
on the audi 1.8T forums they laugh about AMDs remaps not making the quoted figures on any other rollers, and reckon they massage them. I for one also think along those lines and will do until i see some make those figures on an independant dyno.
i dont believe most dynos unless they are on an independant dyno in a rolling road day tbh. So JKMs it is on saturday
