Hi guys as above, (sorry if this is the wrong section) what do standard GTI's normally make on a RR's?
I know from my previous car (Clio 182) some cars make no-where near their book stated power/torque figures.
Average for the 182's was around 165-175bhp
Cheers

They generally make what the Manufacturers say they do :chicken:.
Rolling roads and Lottery do belong in the same sentance almost all the time.
Std GTi should be 197 +/- 5bhp
Ed30 GTi 227+/-5bhp on average.
Check out these, another Forum rolling road day this weekend if your in the Sunny Sarff and fancy a gander round, your more then Welcome. :happy2:

Thats me in the black T-shirt incase your wondering

Thanks for that mate, interesting stuff. :happy2:
-
Mine was 201 bhp standard on V-power fuel.
-
Good stuff mate, I'm going for a full service at Awesome in the next few weeks so tempted to have a go on the RR
-
Mine did 197 Bhp, but that was running 95 RON.....the saving grace was having the Turbo Back Milltek system :rolleye:
-
actually it was December :ashamed:
^^^^^
My first Rolling Road was back in March (I think) at Halifax. I was the only standard car there. I always use V-Power, but I drove over from Lincoln and was nearly empty, so I thought I would fill up at the Shell garage in Halifax. Thing is it was shut :surprised: So I went up into town and went to the Esso, but all they had to offer was 95ron Unleaded :sad1:
So I had to do it. I was in a rush and I still had to find the place we were all meeting. :driver:
Now my car was a standard ED30, and to everyones surprise it made 230.0 BHP. (might have been higher on 99ron V-Power)
This pleased some of the other members. They were happy in the knowledge that the figures they got were pretty much accurate.
So yes, I would agree with Saint Steve about Manufacturers Claims :happy2:

n/a cars commonly make less than normal. pretty much most turbo cars make the correct figures on a reliable dyno. Although f you want to get some free Hp i hear superchips dyno gives them away in doggy bags
-
mine made 204 standard on dd rollers :happy2:

mine made 215 at awesome gti on 95ron

the best thing is to find a std car that went on the same dyno :happy2:
dyno-dynamics have a good rep for being consistent and reproducible (but low pub numbers)
The bottom line is that you run the car on the same dyno each time and compare your own figures for relative improvement.
different dynos = diff correction factors / diff operators / diff strapdown /diff conditions of the day etc...
previously Awesomes rollers would have given you higher numbers than JKM, but theyve been recalibrated more than once since then so I think they have dropped.
Saint Steves figures are correct for dyno dynamics, most other dynos would probably be +20bhp on that. (e.g. ED30 is 230 at JKM but can be 250 ish on other dynos)
Dont forget to take into account gearbox type! only compare like for like :happy2:

clio 'sports' leave the factory with massively hyped up power figures compared to most other cars. Typically a 172 will make 155-165 a 182 will make 160-175 and the 192 make 165-175. I know of a few of the newer clio '200' models making 175-180 bhp.
-
Yeah the 197's were making shocking figures on the RR's although there is a new map on the 200 and apparently they are making closer to the stated figures....
-
^^^ ClioSport/Renaults are quoted in metric PS, not bhp, but even allowing that, it should only account for +/- 5bhp of a difference.

Yes mine gave 255bhp on my stock Ed30 back in the day :signLOL:, on their well set up Rolling road :notworthy:.
