Anyone got them? I can't really justify spending £35 for them at awesome!!! I want one of similar brightness to BMW ones.
Many thanks
-
I got a set from the bay,
Never had a warning come up in 4 months.
Cant remember the seller but they werent from china! All i can remember was they were listed as mercedes canbus bulbs.
Cost me about 8.00 for the pair.
Lee.

well reminded I was in getting some stuff the other day and wanted a pair of replacement headlight bulbs for the mini and next to them they had led bulbs wasn't sure what size or whatever else i req so left them any info on size or that so i can compare to these ones i saw.

Got similar on mine as well, they need to be the ones that are fault code safe otherwise they come on, then the car thinks they're broken and they turn off and you get a warning on the dash.
They are a must have tho i think to make it look more modern, esp if you have puddle lights and xenons
-
They look White enough for me! Got jealous of a 320d that my dad had as a courtesy car this week when he drove past with the bright plates! Just ordered the above eBay ones, I assume that the price of £12.99 is for both bulbs?
-
These arrived this morning so 10/10 for speed of delivery!
Only thing is I broke the housings on both plate lights trying to get them out so need to replace them now before I can fit the LEDs! :stupid:
-
i just brought these as well :) fitting was nice and easy, once i got them the right way round :)
-
What are these like in terms of brightness in comparison to the awesome ones?

Just got some of these as well. Loads better than the standard bulbs. Easy to fit - no indication of which way round they are meant to go, but with only 2 choices, it's not going to take too long to suss it out! :happy2:
Bargain!
-
I got some too. Super speedy delivery, look great and cheap as chips. Happy days!
-
great wee up-grade for the price. looks mega against my candy

How do you get the interior bulbs out?
I want this look in my car!
-
the footwell lights just pop out with the use of a screwdriver etc, on the front interior light just the clear lense part pops out - i used a trim removal tool, the rear interior light comes down by pulling the whole of the cover off from the edge of the light and i did it by hand.
hth :happy2:
-
arent they really bright to have inside your car at night etc? I quite like the dimmer ones for privacy lol
-
yeah there really bright, thats the idea :happy2:. i use the dark for privacy :signLOL:
-
Update:
Fitted - with no problems at all.
They look supercool!!!
But now I want to convert the little puddle lights in the door mirrors - are these easy to do? How are they accessed and which bulbs do they need?
-
Is it the same bulbs for the interior?
-
Fitted - with no problems at all.
I'm gonna have a bash at the weekend (mine arrived today). I imagine you have to pull off a cover first and the remove the bulbs? Do I need anything more than a flat-head screwdriver?

are you fitting the number plate lights stealth? if so its a posi screw driver (2 holding each light) and then pull them down with a flat head screw driver

What he said!
It took me literally 2 minutes - longer as I got them both the wrong way round but didn't do the screws back up until I was sure they worked ok.
Superb mod.
Sidelights next.
Do the sidelight ones need to be canbus friendly too? Or just the cheap ones you see (10 for a few quid I think they were)
-
^^ canbus friendly mate :happy2: worth it though imo
-
if you want any pics let me know, i can pic whore some more :signLOL:
-
:signLOL: @ brett the pic whore :congrats:
-
Anybody know where else i can get some these LED number plate bulbs from? the ebay seller on the previous link sold out?? :sad1: what make was the bulbs any ideas? thanks
-
Don’t think he has sold out, just away for a few days and has taken everything out of the shop. I think he I will be back tomorrow as when I tried to order my sidelight Led’s the web site came up with something like that.
-
Fitted the plate LEDs. Also ordered a set of m-tecs for the puddle lights to match my sidelights.

How do you get the interior bulbs out?
I want this look in my car!
Did the sidelights today - took about 5 mins and looks absolutely brilliant - though haven't worked out how to post yet! plus my car is filthy...
Anyway, now I want to do the interior lights - but I have a query with regards to the fade out feature - does fitting LEDS romove this - I assume it does as they will switch off once there is a slight voltage drop.
Also: what is the shopping list for the interior bulbs - how many and what types?
Thank you
Mark
-
they do still fade, but im not sure how much compared to the standard bulbs.
bulbs for interior are;
2x error free canbus 501 led bulbs
5x normal 501 led bulbs
1x 36mm festoon bulb
plus the 2 vanity mirror bulbs, but im not sure on type as i havent done mine
-
the 2vanity mirror 1's are normal festoon bulbs
anyone done the glovebox bulb :signLOL:
-
oops I have ordered all no error 501 leds :stupid: presume they will still fit. are the festoon bulbs defo 36mm as I seem only to find 38mm ?
Cheers
-
.
Okay guys, don't get me wrong - I love LED's, but why on a number plate?
The only reason I can think of is to highlight a private plate, but why light up a gobblygook plate?
-

Yep, and the boot :happy2:

Are the boot and the glovebox both normal festoon ones?
OI assume the only ones that are canbus in the interior are the footwell ones in the front?

I think it makes the car look that little bit more modern. im sure all new bmw's come with them standard now.

Here's what they all are:
501's for sidelights (2), footwells (2), ceiling (5), glovebox (1)
Festoons for ceiling (1), vanity mirrors (2), boot (1) and number plate (2)
With the boot the bulb isn't long enough but a folded up piece of foil works
-
I fitted puddles no problem, but trying to do foot wells seems a nightmare!
They didn't pop out with screwdriver so I removed the trim to get at them from above but found what seems like a sealed plastic lens and pressed metal unit?
Its an 06 plate so cannot be different to what you guys have already done - am I missing something?
Any ideas welcomed,,,

You'll see some metal tabs holding the plastic in place. You have to carefully prise the open then wiggle the lens free. It's fairly simple, just don't rush as you need to put it back together and bend the tabs back. From memory there's just 2 at each end :happy2:
