Title: New toys for the car that shouldnt have been made.
Post by: dnLcal on October 15, 2010, 08:26:09 pm
Just picked an RNS 510 for my ED30 (cheers Gti_Mad) will get that fitted tomorrow :)

And got home from a week away with work to find my ED30 Plaque had arrived  :surprised:

With the rns does it require coding to work or is that just for the MFSW and Highline?

Cheers.

Just fitted the RNS 510 and when the car is turned off it is still making a noise. am now worried about battery drain.

I have Can Gateway L and SW-version 2720

I went back to the can and the noise had stopped after 10 mins or so.

Any ideas.

Cheers
Callum

I think the 'noise' is normal - mine does it anyway!  Think it's because of the hard drive..

No doubt those with superior knowledge will be along very soon!   :happy2:

L should be OK, they do make a noise and shut down after a few minutes

It's just a little cooling fan mate sometimes it won't make a noise at all when the engine is off, I think there must be a little temperature detector that triggers the fan which will then switch off once the unit is cool

I'm sure darren will be along to point you in the right direction.

Cheers for confirming that guys.

Ive got a bit of an issue i recon its me bing incompetant but when i put an sd card in it comes up with an error: -

I have googled it and all i can find is the card needs to be formatted to FAT32 and it can only read MP3 files. so I've tried this.

Im using an 2gb micro SD in an SDadaptor and have also tried with a 4gb and an 8gb sdhc card.

The RNS is a C version with software 2720

Any help apperciated.
