Sorry boss, I can't really help you.

I've used this scrap yard in the past and have found them to be useful:

http://www.silverlakeautoparts.co.uk/

Don't go by their website, give them a ring to see if they have anything.

Hope you get it sorted pal.

http://www.volkswagenspares.com/

http://www.247spares.co.uk/vw?gclid=CPWQj-Oi1ZgCFQETGgodr0zd0g

That last one is a brilliant service... used it several times.

Good luck.

Have you rang any gearbox companies?

I work next door to a company called Ace Gearboxes, their VW gearboxes start at something like £250 and they deliver nationwide.  I think their website is www.acegearboxes.co.uk

you going for the second hand one then?
Title: Re: bennylenny88 needs your help!

Do you have the part number or model code of your current box that will help you source one.  It will be a common VAG one so should be easy to source once you are able to properly explain what you are looking for.

Twice I've replied to your posts about this with the intention of offering you help but you don't seem to be interested so perhaps £650 fitted would be your best option.

But a simple bit of research would net that for you and you'd be better equipped to find the part.  Up to you, I'm only trying to help.

In the boot under the carpet should be a build sticker, it will have the 3 digit identifier for the gearbox.

1) Replace gearbox with new unit
2) LEARN HOW TO USE CLUTCH
3) ???
4) Profit!

Ok, lets try a different angle - PM me your chassis number.

Engine will be one of the two and not both - Unless you've put a sneaky one in the boot!!

LOL! Sounds like your making things rather difficult Benny! Why are you going for a 5spd, when you have a 6spd in it currently?
Title: Re: bennylenny88 needs your help!
Post by: bennylenny88 on February 13, 2009, 01:03:00 pm
i know im trying not to be but i cant go home atm just doing something..
because when my first box broke we went scrappers to get another 5 sp.. luckly we ended up with a 6 speed.
but since ive no job atm im after the best offer i can get :\ so 5 speed i think.
