Very nice. Do like the rims but I think we need side-on pics to appreciate them more. Look forward to the new mods.

well i fitted my coilovers today  :jumpmove:.  was easy enough no real mishaps, so cant complain, ride feels pretty close to standard bump wise, but handling is excellent  :driver:,
little bit of scrapping on the front when going round a corner or over a bumpy road too fast but other than that no complaints, so far.
will get up picks tomorow at somepoint as it was dark by the tym i got finished. Allan

They shouldn't be rubbing really mate. What are the specs of the wheels/tyres? Those Falkens do look a bit chunky. Try another brand next time. I was told that there is so much variation in tyre shape between the Brands, even though they may be the same size/spec.

Have you done the Screw-delete mod? I highly recommend doing this. My front tyres on my new 19's were 235's and they would rub under hard compression when going fast. I did the screw mod, and they didn't rub again.  :happy2:

Either that or you have your coilies way too low. (but I don't really know about coilovers)

....oh and once again, the wheel colour/style really suit the Steel Grey.
There are some people that have done there wheels Steel Grey to match their car and they look just great.
From your previous pics the your wheels look a pretty good match to me....but with an extra something.   :notworthy:

Def need to see some new pics now. Lowering was all it needed.

Thanks for the reply monte, i will be doing the screw delete today, will let you know the outcome.
i thought to my self that the wheels were a pretty close match to steel grey, glad you like them  :happy2:
pics will be up tonight at some point, got to do some serious cleaning first

if the sun strip is in the wiper arch then yeah it has to come off for the mot...You like it thats the main thing

thanks mate. i am not fitting a ed30 splitter, i have bought the gti lower splitter as mine was missing when i bought the car and the front will be colour coded apart from that bit. i used detailers tape to mask up the lights, ( its just blue masking tape) :happy2:

....The EVOMS engine cover is a royal pain in the arse to take on and off. There's folks here who have given up and sold theirs on.

I modified mine:  http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,11702.0.html

....But I think it's okay if it's transparent - At least my graded tinted blue one has always passed MOT.

thanks for the replys robin, i didnt realise the evoms cover was such a flawed design, think i myt just go for the modified oem cover now (discovered from a link within your link) :happy2:
and with regards to my sunstip, the place that fitted it said it should pass an mot as you can see through it, but my mate said he failed with the same type strip so...... suppose i will just have to wait and see, mot is a full year away so wont be worrying about it!

Thanks for the comments, and yes my fronts are legal 70%.. not been pulled since they have been on so cant say for defo if they are legal or not, but they do look light so should be ok! and no i never used anthing on the plastics as i knew it was going in for painting, thanks for the concern tho  :happy2:.
Should be getting a few more things after crimbo, hopfuly twintake/itg, blueflame/milltek full system, updated dv and forge spacer, revo stage 2. What would be your recomendations on xzorst and intake out of the ones above?

....Twintake vs ITG and Blueflame vs Milltek is largely down to personal preferences - They're all good - Check the reviews on this site.

Forge spacer is just a noise maker and considered chavvy by most Mk5/6 GTI drivers.

Revo2 is IMO the best balance between having plenty power but not needing even more mods or pushing the engine closer to its limits if you care about longevity. Revo has the advantage of being able to fine tune the settings etc and is well proven.

Looking very nice.

The colour coding makes a real difference to the look. Did you have the bumpers smoothed, they're suppose to be textured on the GTi's aren't they?

Good Job Johnston

:signLOL: a wee bit of a carbon fetish starting, think it looks ace! got the grill from venom, its the carbonspeed one. (was £211 on the website but i spotted it in PVW for £98 gave them a call and it was on offer and its back in the mag this month at same price) so snapped it up. Its a good fit, only bat bit really is a 2mm gap running along the front where it meets the lipstick line, other than that its spot on  :happy2:

Did you do this yourself or get it done pro?
Was it involved? I've been meaning to wrap mine (in the exact same colour scheme as you have) for yonks now but haven't got the courage to attack it  :ashamed:

thanks for the comments folks, thats the gti badge i got from parts for euro, and regarding the vw i had it done FOC from a mate that works in a body shop, should be easy enough to do yourself but you will need the newer 2 part rear badge, just a case of removing the badge (its stick on so no need ro remove the whole mechanism) smooth the under part(black plastic bit) spray it to match car, rub down the vw embelm spray it black and then stick it all back together again  :happy2:

Thanks for the comments,  :happy2: I got the pillar covers from ebay, i had originaly ordered them from parts4euro but after a 8 week wait they said they were unsure when they would be available again. so had a browse on ebay and found these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320661063848&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT I'm really happy with the quality and fit of them. The Forge twintake i got from larkspeed http://www.larkspeed.com/index.pl?p=FMIND12&a=i but by the look of things they have just had a major price increase, i paid £312 + £17.50 p&p, only a couple of months ago, now there £384 WTF!!

thanks for the replies, rim protecor done blue sounds good, somthing for me to think about. Regarding the fuel, it is a bit thirstier than the mk5, £75 to fill the tank on tesco momentum, done 250 miles of mixed diving/ puting the foot down alot.. stil another 50 or so miles in the tank, i'm averaging about 20-25mpg
