Hi all, What is the best method for cleaning leather seats and also what products do you all suggest using?
-
Gliptone leather cream. Runs rings round Autoglym leather care. use it on my motorcycle leathers as well. One application each winter is all they need, so it easily copes with car upholstery.

OK cool, where do you get that? How much? Easy to use? Is it just on a cloth then rub in or anything more complex?

Theres a few bits there, they do a soap but i find a damp microfibre is all that need to get off any dirt, then i just treat it every so often with the gliptone cream, its an odd one as most modern car leathers are nothing more than just a flexible plastic coating on a leather hide, so not really any need to treat them, that said gliptone cream (leather conditioner) seem to work well in the past for me

Just as Blue says. A damp microfibre is fine. For best results apply twice in a 24 hour period.

+1. I'm sure JPC will provide more info but basically the leather esp in VW cars are treated and coated to protect from damage. Which means things like conditioners don't do anything except block the pores in the plastic and sit on top of the plastic. The leather needs to breathe.
If you need to clean them, a diluted APC should be fine. Otherwise damp MF is the way to go! :happy2:

Can Gliptone be bought over the counter rather than online
-
Yes. I buy mine form my friendly local motorcycle leathers shop.
