seven weeks for a remap?  :surprised:
Surely it shouldn't have taken that long, even if other jobs were in the way?

He has the ex JC ex Hurdy GT28 kit and he didn't want to use Revo / GIAC software so hence 7 weeks for West Tuning to do a map from scratch for it and make it run nice.

It better be worthwhile Martin.

350hp is what you have asked for?  that doesnt make sense to me, you could have done that with a k04 and had more power and torque from earlier in the rev range.  instead your going to lose the lower end and yet ionly make the same as a k04 @ the top end

that is of course if it only makes 350 obviously. if you make more than it becomes more reasonable

heard too many things bad about jabba , and heard nothing bad of west tuning .

.... x 2

I know Ray West and he's extremely experienced and also has his own 4WD Dyno-Dynamics rollers capable of handling 1,000 bhp!!

He's always very busy though, hence inevitable delays.

martin's been around the VAG scene a long time...and he's most likely to be referring to the good ol' 1.8T days.

not just the 1.8t days lee .

350 was asked for as i want it to be reliable on track and as a daily . the turbo kit will do 420 ish (if/when i build a bottom end or get bored)

im not into pub talk at all 400 this 500 that pahh whatever . 350 usable power that will get used , i know too many people that have 400bhp cars that do nothing with them apart from go to shows and say its got 400bhp .

....My post was referring to West Tuning but I can see how it's ambiguous because of my quoting the whole sentence which included mentioning Jabba.

Having said that, solely by word of mouth and not my own direct experience, there's one tuner up north - either Jabba or JBL or very similar name - that is run by someone who has a bad reputation. But it's all word-on-the-street and I wouldn't want to sling mud unfairly. Someone with direct experience would best answer this.

If I wanted an opinion I could trust about northern tooners I'd ask Hurdy.
