Hi all,
Can you find out what parts are on a car from the VIN number?? ie by looking on etka?
If so does anyone know anyone that could do a search for me??

Not from the VIN number, but you can from the sticker in the boot or handbook.

Cheers Golfgirl,

This website will show you the optional extras/equipment your car came with: http://igorweb.org/equidec/Default.aspx
It needs the codes from the sticker in the car manual or the same codes in the boot under the carpet. It will not tell you the part numbers of any part etc. For that, you need ETKA. This website will tell you say whether 18" alloys were fitted from the factory, or whether it has aircon etc.

Thanks Stealthwolf,
Thats what i thought, ido need specific part numbers. So can you search on ETKA with the VIN number?
I know when i go into the dealers i always have to give them my reg, not much good if you want something that wasnt on the car originally!

Yes you can do a search from a VIN but you would need to ask an authorised ETKA user to do it for you.
Your dealer will use your reg as it's more likely remembered by you than your VIN.
-
Thanks,
I think there are some users on here with ETKA??
-
Yes there are but the clue is in my sentence above

Ha ok say no more! :happy2:

The only reason stealers use the reg is because 99.9% of peeps don't know their VIN. The reg number is used in an online DVLA website to get the VIN - and the VIN is then entered into ETKA.

I finally got them to pull the parts and send me the part numbers!
Cheers for the help guys
