Title: Bloody VW Dealers!
Post by: Neimad on October 26, 2010, 07:39:59 pm
I'm absolutely bloody furious!

I've just got my car back after getting it serviced at a VW dealer.  I gave it the usual quick once over, outside and in, spotting the top-up bottle of oil left loose in the main section of the boot and a bottle of screen wash in one of the little plastic holders at the side of the boot.  Having driven home I then opened the boot to retrieve my stuff only be greeted with the extreme smell of alcohol... turns out the bottle of screen wash they gave me had a cap with no end and so now the entire contents of the bottle is all over my boot!

It's just a good thing that the dealer was closed when I got back otherwise someone would have been on the thick end of a lot of bad feelings and some very unfriendly words.  As it stands I'll probably have cooled down by tomorrow morning when I pay them another visit, which is probably for the best...

Go back. You want the carpet cleaned or replaced and the washer fluid bottle replaced at the very least.

Sad I know, but it's not just VW dealers. I have never found any main dealer I can rely on (SEAT, Fiat, VW, BMW, Audi, Subaru, Vauxhall), they've all messed up big time in the past. Independent garages get their money from customers coming back so they look after people better. Main dealers know that people will go to them with new cars and warranties so they don't even try  :sad1:

Agree with the last 2 post. My car has been going to a VAG specialist for the last 2 years now (the owner has a MK5 himself) and apart from sometimes over running and taking an extra day to get some work done they have been good as gold and cant fault them.

Interesting information.

Looks like I will have to find a recommended VAG specialist in the north-west london area when I get my GTI  :happy2:
