Title: Hi from Kent
Post by: roblan on October 27, 2010, 10:43:34 pm
Hi.  Have been reading lots on the forum and a few weeks ago took the plunge and got a 2007 Edition 30 DSG.  I was originally close to buying a Civic Type R but one drive in the Ed30 and there was no contest :-)  It's my first FWD car for a while having had a number of 3 series BMWs (latest being a 330d coupe - now for sale if you know anyone looking!).  The GTI is definitely a more fun drive!

The car is fairly standard and the only mod I plan at the moment is to add the RNS510 satnav.

Few pictures taken today after cleaning and quick polish for the first time.

That shine is stunning!

One day, I'll save enough for a decent correction by JPC.

That shine is insane!

My best mate has got a type-r, and I've had jap performance cars before. Good cheap fun, but the Golf is an amazing all rounder, deffo done the right thing!

Nice car buddy, everytime I see an ed30 I want the tinted rear clusters!

Hi.  I took the car to Elite in Rainham a few weeks ago to get them to check the alignment.  Heard they are the best and was not disappointed.  Absolutely brilliant customer service with before and after printouts!

I live just the other side of the river in Dartford.

Thanks.  Amazing what a bit of Megs NXT can do!  Paintwork maybe not quite as good as it looks in the pics with a few stone chips.  Looking at Chipex to fill in some of the small stone chips on the bonnet and then look at a proper correction after the winter.

Enjoying the "standard" performance at the moment but tempted by a Revo remap maybe next year.  Anyone found a good Revo dealer in Kent?

Hi there.

Another Kentish GTI owner here - Folkestone for me.

Love the shine of that car - amazing.

Mine's being detailed this Friday, simply can't wait to see the end result.
