Post by: mk1inbits on October 29, 2010, 09:26:50 pm
Hi Folks

Evening fellow dubbers - finally bought an edition 30 after looking for about 6 months - the drive is so different to my 20 year old mk2

Well chuffed with the car , but just seen TOPCATS signature and fancy some of those wheels whatever type they are- more money !!

Cheers Rich - Are you sticking with super unleaded ? bit of a shock how much juice the car is using - I am getting about 30 mpg especially after my mk2 which was averaging about 40 mpg - heavy right foot i guess

Well.... i try to use the highest grade available but sometime i just throw bog standard stuff in!

I think i get about 30 too.... bit of a shock to me to coming from a 1.9TDI mk5 which did 50MPG even if you hammered it!!

Hi and welcome.

The engine retards the timing (I think) if you put lower quality fuel in, so you get poorer mpg and less power. Better to stick to V-power TBH.

Plus don't forget to put up some pics!

Welcome  :drinking:

Stick with the higher octane fuel, may be a bit more expensive but the car will run better and you will see an improvement in your MPG!  :happy2:
