Well worth a trip for some very impartial and commitment-free advice.

I certainly can't answer your question.  But Clive will give honest advice - no doubt gleaned from live scope data.  Are you fairly local to East Anglia then?

Have you run this by JohnnyC and Hurdy - they are both well up on these kinds of issues.

Yeah, I live about 10mins from him, all I hear from local VAG owners is good things, excellent service and attention to detail. I think they have a K1 Leon running 315bhp as a sort of demo car, must be a colleagues or something. I called them up 2 days ago and there advertising 100 quid off a stage 1 REVO map, which totals to 480 inc VAT and they claim on a Ed30 you'll achieve 300bhp.

Andy you don't need the bigger injectors unless your wanting to go the full hog, The turbo runs fine with the normal injectors and a good map which Dave @ PDT can do for you.

Well it's not looking good. The cheeky blighters want 56+ VAT to set up the REVO map on a dyno.

What is he gonna do.... Guess the BFT settings??  :stupid:

Really  :surprised:

That was not mentioned when I called the other week. I assumed the priced quoted incorporated everything necessary to do the job?

Hey - that's a bit unfair!  How much would say JKM, VWR or any of the rolling road equipped tuners charge for a custom set up?

You can have REVO straight out the box, and fiddle with it yourself; or you can pay a touch more to have it professionally set up.  Like I said in the original post - he isn't particularly cheap - but he is AWESOMELY superb.  He has more qualifications and awards than probably all of the VW 'master techs' in the UK.

Pays your money, takes your choice.

Ohh thanks for digging this up.

Just a note to say that they loaded an incorrect map onto my ed30 and set it up the BTF settings incorrectly. 669.. REVO set it up correctly at 649

Your joking?? <nope!>  :sad1:

How did you know he loaded the incorrect stettings?  Was it that REVO happened to discover it at some random occurance?????  I know that REVO seem to hold Clive in very high reputation (well that's what both Kev and Carl told me!).  :sad1:

Did you actually let Clive know?  Because I'm sure he'd be mortified if he made a genuine mistake, and would definately have seen you right.

Yes. All of the above. I got a EML warning light on not long after it had been mapped. Related to over fueling on idle, something which REVO knew about and effected the S3/ed30 engine. Problem is that I live nowhere near Clive's so to go back there would have been a pain in the John Thomas. He said come back and we will sort it but 300 miles trip after spending 500quid doesnt compute. So I cut my losses, went to REVO HQ, they installed the correct map, correct settings and gave me the DSG stage 1 software for free.

No harm done :-) car pulls like crazy at the moment with the cold weather.

OK - at least this fuller explanation sounds a little better than your reply at #14 in this thread.  I've known Clive for years (not personally, more professionally, if you get my drift) - and I was genuinely surprised at reading your earlier post.  It's just said that Revo already knew about it before letting Clive load the map.

But I'm sure Clive will be as good as his word - if you are ever in the area again, and need something else sorted - he will do his best to try and make good.

Yeah - the winter does have its plus points . .  :driver:
