Title: clutch?
Post by: johnboy07 on October 30, 2010, 04:21:29 pm
i get a tapping noise coming from my passanger footwell that stops as soon as i depress the clutch pedal. could this be a thrust bearing? also im contemplating stage 2+. is it really that much more of an improvement over stage one. i want more power but its alot of money with hpfp and ic so just wanted to know if its value for money.

thanks

Best value for money is Stage 1 - just a remap. More power requires disproportionately more amounts of money.

Example:
Std Ed30 to Stage 1 - 50bhp increase, costs c. £500
Stage 1 to Stage 2+ - another 50bhp increase, costs c. £3000.

I believe that is a perfect example of what is known as "The law of diminishing returns"

+1. And it doesn't take into account the handling and braking modifications required to harness that power.
