Personally speaking I would go for 2/3 way components up front and a pair of coaxials in the rear.

Several people have done it on here (I think).

I had something similar in my Octavia and coupled with an RNS510 it sounded way better than when it left the factory.

A decent set of 2-way components up front would be a massive improvement. Budget for some sound deadening aswell

The easiest speakers to swap into our cars are the Rainbow IQ325.25. If you can find some.

Otherwise the next best thing are Hertz HSK 163's

then build the rest of your system around that.

+1. Rainbows are straight swaps.

I've had Focal's Polyglass 165 VR3 3 way component set fitting in the front doors of my 5 door. Just running an RNS-510 with no additional amps etc.

The difference in sound is stunning, with Bass that now really rocks the car. Highly recommended but not cheap.

Do you have to remove the door cards to change the speakers?

Hey all,

Would it be a good idea to buy a 3-way component set and just disconnect the rear speakers?

It's really depends on how you like your sound or if you frequently have passengers.

I do not run rear speakers what so ever. But that is me, And I hardly have passengers in my car.
