Hi all,
Been looking at mk5 Golf GTIs (mainly 2005-2007) and have come across the problem with the ABS pump where the ESP light stays on. From what I've read on other forums it can cost up to £1400 to sort, so would rather know if a car I'm looking at has had it done or not. Is this something that VW dealers will hold (I know that will only tell me if it's been done at a VW dealer and not at an independant). Do the later model mk5's (2008) have the same problem? It's the only thing that's really putting me off buying one!
Cheers

some of the early gti's did suther from this problem..as you say it can cost £1400 from the dealers to sort out..If it has been replaced by them they will have a record of it been done
