Hello folks, I've got the opportunity of buying the above. I was was just wondering if there are any pros and cons of buying the above?
Obviously if the cat back hasnt got any damage, theres no problems with that part of the exhaust.
But its buying the downpipe and cat that worries me, there arent any visual defects with it, but is it worth the risk, or do I just sell that half on and buy new? I've read on a post something about needing a dogbone mount insert for the downpipe?
Thanks in advance for any help :happy2:
And I said yet again to the missus I wasnt going to spend any more money on the car :scared: :stupid:

make sure you get the purchase reciept so you get to keep the warranty
-
How old & if the price is right ?.
-
the warranty is only applicable to the first owner. Its alledgedly 6 months old, and the price is very fair
-
as long as you got the reciept who are they to know your not ?
-
good point :happy2:

have a close look at it, in particular the flexi metal part and the bit which connects to the turbo, look for any cracks and any overly sooty parts which might suggest a leak. also the exhaust tips are prone to cracking
if it is damaged its not the end of the world, just make sure the person who you are buying it off is the original owner and they will be able to get it repaired or replaced under warranty

this the one that was on ebay ? It looked like new to me.

if the reciept has the number plate of the car it came of it won't be covered

There's also the risk that the previous car that is was fitted to may not have been set up properly, be running lean and fooked the sports cat with high EGTs. :surprised: This is not unheard of, but if it's fairly new and not done many miles then it should be ok..

I bought the lot anyway, just drove past dave from PDT, shouted through the car window, and he said he'll fit it for me.
Got the full TBE resonated milltek, and also a very slightly scuffed ed30 pescara with a brand new dunlop sport tyre, all for a very reasonable £530 :jumpmove:

Was that you at the traffic lights this morning?

getting it fitted saturday :happy2:
I'm just going to go to stage 2 bluefin for the time being
Dave said it was going to be £299 for the pump + fitting. If he would have done it for just over the GB price I would have had it done :sad1:, so looks like I'll just wait until next year and make the switch to Revo and get the pump done then. Christmas is looming etc etc and I only build cheap Jap cars for a living :rolleye:

cant wait to get a TBE on my gti! Think milltek is the way to go
