Fancied a personalised plate for my 06 reg, nothing flash just a VW06 --- but theres not a single one on the dvla website......
I guess 2006 was a busy year for personalised plates?? how many people on here have a VW06 --- plate or are they all on polos and passats??

why not get an 05 or 04 one, as you can put an older plate on your car just not a newer one :)

Looks like the combination of VW and 06 never happened.

VW05 did as there is one on here, has a Red theme too it. Like Tom mentioned doesnt have to be an 06 plate, but I would go for 04 and earlier as otherwise people might think your car is older than it is

If that were the case I would go for a really old one, like 02, as otherwise some people will look at your car, and not realise it to be a personalised plate, and just think you have an older car than you do.

.
When my car arrived from Wolfsburg in early August 2005 I had the option of 'VW05 RED' or 'VW06 RED' if I waited a few weeks until September, but...
1) - I'd already waited over 12 weeks and was hot for her.
2) - '05' can also be interpreted as Mk5.
Dig the 5's:

I wasn't sure at the time but now I'm really pleased I spent the £700 on my plate - It's brought me a lot of attention of the welcome kind and gives my car a strong identity.
