Title: Differences between ED 30 registration dates
Post by: Resonance on November 07, 2010, 06:26:04 pm
Hello Everybody,

Just a quick question about the ED 30.

Where there any differences between the ED 30 that were produced early (56 Plate) and the later models (08 onwards) for example, engine components used, different options in the ED 30 and build quality.

Thanks again

Richard

Early dsg cars suffered less Mechatronics issues, going by number of people complaining on later cars with failures.

Im sure i remember somewhere they did some major changes to it.

Pretty much the same, consol colour and steering wheel was black on the earlier models, and greyer on the later.

Rns510 (touch screen sat nav) came out from 08 as a factory option rather then the MFD2 dvd rom sat navon the pre 08 cars.

All else off the top of my head was pretty much the same.

Thanks for the info Saint Steve!

I just hope somebody can shed some light if there were any major changes between years of manufacture.

.
I don't know the specifics (mine is a GTI, not Ed30) but VW change their spec every July. So you need to know the build dates rather than the plate dates.

Example: Mine's a 05-plate built in mid July 2005 (delivered August) but a 06-build spec. HTH.

Can't see there were any significant changes to the specification, if any at all?..........

All I can think of is the change from the MFD2 to the RNS510 on the options list.
