Evening guys, :happy2:
Has anyone used or know someone that has used the SPAX 25mm lowering springs?
I've rarely heard of them mentioned in the MKV world, but I've been offered a good deal on a set+ fitting.
What do you guys think?
Nick :booty:

Installing such cheap and nasty springs on an Ed30 would be sacrilege.

Ha fair point. My mechanic at Statllers Sheffield has them on his 400bhp Ed30. ( Captain Kirk i think) and he rates them

I used to sell a lot of soax stuff, they are by no mean cheap or poor quality (as someone mentioned) but not widely used in the VAG world. Used a lot in motorsport, especially rally/tarmac rallying/ grasstrack etc...
Overall quality is good and made in Uk, but if I had to pick up on one point is that they are often a lot harsher than other springs such as eibach/h&r etc...

Thanks alot for that :happy2:
There is always alot of ignorance when it comes to car parts and assuming a brand is better than another. Most noticable with remaps and the like.
But thank you for the advice. I'm trying to source some resonably priced H&R or Sportline Eibachs at the moment. - It's proving to be a real PITA!

Try emailing Damian at DPM Performance, tell him your a member on here and mkvs.net and ask for his best price with delivery.
Youll be pleasantly surprised :happy2:

I have experience of them on a few cars (mainly Vauxhalls) and they have always been rock hard! Quality is good but I would never buy them as there's no way I could live with the ride.

I will Lee. Thank you :pomppomp:

I had spax suspension on my 1.1 206 when I was 18 and after 2 years one snapped :surprised: for compettion springs I never expected them to snap specially on a 1.1 it wasn't like :driver:

had a set of Spax RSX on my old C2 GT, was very firm and the rear shocks were so noisey I had to send them back as faulty!

No ignorance on my part. GMAX and Spax used to be the budget choice on the forums when I was a Focus driver. Tight-fisted owners then used to wonder why the springs failed or the car would sit un-evenly. Never had any problems with Eibach or H&R. Not to mention the fact that Spax used to do just one spring kit for all models whereas the likes of Eibach would engineer proper progressively wound springs for different engine sizes. I am talking nearly 10 years ago though and on Focus's but I'd still be far more inclined to go with Eibach again.
