just taken my car down to vw leeds for its 50000 service. i asked the service bloke if they used longlife oil on t&d services to which he replied no. i mentioned the bulletin that vw put out in 2008 and he said he had never heard of this. so i get to pay the difference. is there a copy of this memo anywhere?
cheers

My Mate works for Harrogate VW & mine always has the long life oil even tho it's set for t&d.

I have had this problem myself where the dealers don't know about this. I paid the difference, but they price matched a cheaper price so the extra was only about £7. It is annoying though that there is a bulletin instructing the dealers to use LL oil!
I rang the Seat dealer to get a price their reply was that they always use LL oil for services. :jumping:

they said they want £5 a litre difference plus vat

well been and picked the car up. they used longlife oil and didn't charge me so i wonder if they looked into the bullitin
either way result :happy2:

There's a thread about my experiences of Leeds VW on here somewhere. They're all idiots from what I can tell :sad1:

Funny that!! I got my GTI from them as well. I gave them a call to see what oil the had put in it, as i noticed it said it hadn't been filled with LL oil at the service before i got it. Much to my surprise the service woman said it was a semi synth 10w 40 that they had put in it....
I changed it out for some 5w 30 Shell ultra extra and a new filter last weekend

They put the wrong oil in my car when they serviced it too. I made them replaced it FOC because it was their mistake!

I only use 0-40 in mine
