I know tyre pressures need to be checked when they've cooled down because pressure increases as the temperature increases, so giving an artificially high pressure reading when they're hot.
But what about too cold? Surely the tyres appear "underinflated"? At the weekend, I decided to check the tyre pressures using an analogue guage. It read 30psi, so I pumped all the tyres up to 37psi. But it was 6*C outside and I wonder whether the tyres have been overinflated. Steering was a lot lighter but I didn't feel 'confident' going round corners at speed.
At what temp should I check the tyre pressures?

ideally tyres should be checked in 'ambient temperatures'
where you are, the weather, the tyre, the colour of rod stewarts pants, many many things can come into play
you have to work within an acceptable band of psi.
make sure the tyres arent hot, inflate them, check them periodically as the weather changes
