Title: Help removing glass from wing mirror needed!?
Post by: berg on November 14, 2010, 11:59:32 am
Bought some spare winter rims with sc2 part worns and the guy threw in some chrome s3 replica mirrors also.

Am bit dubious as to whether i will like them but thought will put them on and see what i think.

The instructions simply say "remove glass" to get to the screws but how do you safely remove the glass as i am pretty crap at DIY and can see me breaking the glass without some input off here!?

Cheers.

i think you need to move the mirror all the way to one side nd then use a screwdriver wrapped in a towel to pop the glass out.

sure someone will be along to confirm

Correct - a little bit of force. I used my fingers and it was enough (done it twice on each side).

tilt the mirror so that the bottom lip is protruding (the glass is up) then put your fingers underneath and pull up, it takes a bit of force but it shouldnt break and even if it does the glass is toughened so it wont splinter into your hands
