had my intake for about 18months and never given it a wash, whats the best way to do it? how do i do it? do i really need to do it? is it just easier buying a new panel :laugh:

erm wot intake do you have?
i gots the carbonio and im pretty sure soapy water and i good clean would keep it running fine.

If you've got a Carbonio then your filter is likely to be a Pipercross. If it's a VW stock paper filter, just buy another one everytime you have the car serviced.
I've got a Carbonio plus an ITG foam filter which comes pre-oiled and just needs hoovering when car is serviced. After it has done about 60k miles I'll buy a new one.

i have the piperx one, so just was it with soapy water and leave it to dry. sounds easy enough. :happy2:

Just be careful when trying to remove that engine cover... :smiley:

whatever you do don't use Halfrauds panel filter cleaner, it leaves an oil on the panel when it should be a dry filter which in turn will wreck you MAF
pipercross and the like can be washed through but if its a paper filter then don't get it wet

The filter that comes with the carbonio is not paper and only needs soapy water to clean it.
