Well finally changed the servo on my mk5 gti, it is not a simple job if any one is thinking of having a go, it can be done with the engine in the bay, just, you will have to remove the master cylinder and the exhaust manifold and turbo, then using two trolley jacks one under the sump and one under the transmition, take the engine mounts off both sides, engine and transmition, also disconnect both intercooler pipes, disconnect flow and return water pipes to the heater matrix, then slowly lower the engine aprox 6 to 8 inches and you can just about wiggle it out,
I took pictures of the job, so if any one ends up in my position having to change the servo, I would be happy to email them, not sure how to post them up as I am a new member finding my way around this forum :happy2:

All I can say is you have got some bollocks to do that.

thanks, like to do as much as I can myself on my car, only had it 5 weeks learnt a lot about the car and the engine and my patients doing the job :smiley: , took my three days, think I could do it now in 1 day now knowing the short cuts,
