Title: Car already mapped?
Post by: Pullafacial on November 18, 2010, 07:02:42 am
Hi guys,
Thinking of buying a used bluefin but am concerned my car may have already been mapped and the purchase may be a waste of money.
Is there anyway of telling if car is already mapped or does anyone know if super chips will reset handset at no extra cost with in 7 days?

Cheers

Put it on a rolling road - will tell you what it is producing and you can use that to help tell whether it's mapped or not.

Rolling road test is one way, but easiest is to ask your local tuning specialist to read the ECU and check for you, we charge £10 for this.

Boost logs or MAF airflow in vcds.

I was just reading this when superchips emailed me.

My car had previously been mapped,

They gave me 2 options
Either send the unit back to get a refund or they wil send me the factory vw settings and the superchips map.

So it looks like they have changed there policy.

I opted to get there map and the factory map as I would rather have a superchips map than an unknown one
