Title: Using the interior light for power ?
Post by: 182_blue on November 19, 2010, 07:28:44 pm
I know it sounds odd but is it possible to use the interior light for powering my pogo alert plus (as in soldering on the cables), i know its not ideal but where i want to place it the power cable is not long enough to reach anywhere else !!

Probably, just get yourself a multimeter and see what power sources you have.

I presume it has a cig lighter style power adapter?

....That's correct. That's how mine is hardwired. Any good car electrician can do it. You'll want it to power up automatically on ignition if hardwiring.

I wired my Valentine one this way:

I took a feed from the top row in the fuse box (Ignition switched). It can be removed again with no damage to the existing wiring.
