GTI related but a simple teaser which probably most will get immediately, assuming you're interested enough to be bothered or got time to waste

:signLOL:
-
Robin have you still got your recaro's in the car??? I noticed a photo the other day on your vacuum cleaner review and thought i saw standard seats??
On topic - i don't have a clue what that is!!?

....Hi Chris! Good to see you still visiting here :happy2:
Yep, I still have those comfy Recaro's. Even with the .:R logo they look very stock in overall appearance as if the car was factory supplied with them - Well, a few were! Some proper Recaro trackday one-piece buckets crossed my mind (cushion pads in Interlagos) but my car is primarily a road car.
You still lovin your Beemer? (silly question)
-
Ahh good! Glad to hear that I was mistaken! I didn't think you would get rid of those seats!
Yes loving the BMW...need to start a build thread soon as mods are starting to come now!
I am very intrigued as to what this 'object' is.....?!
-
^^^^
The identity of the 'object' will be revealed in due course.
I'm enjoying the guesses so far, guys :happy2:
-
Looks like something made out of fibre glass...?
-
Is it a carbon fibre splint for your middle finger?
-
Looks like its cast!
Although i like the 'splint for the middle finger' idea

....Bitch!! You promised me whilst on bended knee that you wouldn't tell anyone about those! :booty:
-
hang on a second who was bent over and who had hold of the anal beads
-
batman facemask
....A very good guess considering that the mystery object was photographed just outside The Batcave aka my garage which doesn't have electricity.
But who needs Batman... I'm Robin!
-
Come one then Robin, spill the beans
-
^^^^ +1 !!

I must say there's been so many quality replies in this thread - Too many good ones to pick out just one or two. I didn't really expect so much interest. :happy2:

....I think that if I was an employer interviewing a prospective employee one of my first questions would be: "Do you drive a GTI and/or are you on any car forums?" If the answer was yes, they wouldn't get the job!
-
:signLOL: Well I don't have to worry about getting sacked!!!
Im self employed so I can please my bloody self what I do!!
-
Be interesting to see how this looks fitted.

....The best way to be! Same as I was within a year of leaving college. Worked literally 24/7 sometimes but then could take 4 hours for lunch if I wanted and holidays abroad whenever I had time and wanted. Continual battles with the feckin taxman but we won most of them and that was extremely satisfying.

....I'll photograph her it from several angles, Geoff :happy2:

Just in case anyone else asks, my side vent gauge pod is provisionally sold... Already! [Thanks, buddy :drinking:]

-
Robin, what time you at jkm? I should be around in the afternoon if you still fancy a seat in the recaros

I'm driving A27/M27 Eastbound > Portchester for a long lunch on Sunday though... Sunday morning any good? PM me if you prefer.
-
Sunday is probably better. What sort of time where you thinking?

If they answered yes to that question I'd definitely give them the job. Clearly a sign of superior intelligence and taste...oh, and modesty of course!
-
yeh are good but you cant see the redline when its fitted or the full beam light on the dash . 1 of my 1st mods about 5 years ago . a doddle to fit robin diy and save yourself a trip down there . takes about half a hour max

....I've checked out the cowling on mine without the gauge installed and it doesn't hide either the redline on the rev counter nor the blue full beam light. Did you not have the offset version?
You know how useless I am with car installations. I'm passing JKM on my way to friends in Surrey anyway and I'd rather someone who knows what they're doing takes responsibility. Furthermore, I don't have tools anyway.
-
yeh mine is the offset , might be how i have my seat ! be interested to see how they fit it as from memory it comes with sticky pads (naff) i drilled mine off to the oe fixing points . also if you have your wheel pulled back you will see some of the collum
-
^^^^
No sticky pads supplied with mine.
My seat is in its very lowest position.
I'm off to a very early start tomorrow so will let you know either tomorrow night or Saturday depending when I get back home. :happy2:
