Title: VW RNS 510C - Will not code to steering wheel
Post by: Kiwi on November 23, 2010, 10:12:35 am

Morning All,

Have a little issue where my RNS510 will not code to my steering wheel.

Anyone got a fix, or suggestions as to why this is? Could it be the firmware?

Could be lots of things. Do you have an autoscan you can post?

Darren, scanned it and couldn't find anything wrong with the unit, but suggested something about firmware.

Is it proper C unit ?, I have seen people have issues with units that have hacked firmware on, I guess you had the BAP protocol set properly on it ?

Yes it is a proper RNS 510 version C.

Darren was saying something about it may of been re flashed using Skoda firmware and not VW firmware. The unit has come from a Mk6

I was very surprised?? there was not one fault on kiwi's eddy :surprised:

I remember something about a moded Skoda firmware which if put onto the golf stopped the mfsw working properly?

Could do with Carl on this cos he's the man with all the f/w knowledge.

I did have a look on my pc and do have a few f/w files I can send you to see if it sorts it out?  but as we spoke breifly about the risks you do need to be aware if it does go wrong you may turn your RNS into a nice paperweight????

If you need the discs just let me know.

Cheers

Darren
