Title: Osir paddles
Post by: Gtiain on November 25, 2010, 03:33:29 pm
Has anyone on here fitted the aluminium paddles made by osir? Are they purely for aesthetic reasons? I like the look of them anyway but a bit sceptical about ordering them from the us due to tax.

You can get them from the TTshop here in the UK.

I did a review many moons ago:   http://biali.ritey.com/forum/index.php?topic=139.0

Saint Steve has them too and we both love them.

One of our menbers imports these, think it was Robokn. A few of us have them and for around 50 squid they are fantastic. Solid alloy and feel great in your hands. Much better than the tacky carbon T.I.D ones.

They are great items, really well made.

I've tried to get in touch with Rob a couple of times but to no avail.

I have them. They're in my box of many things to have fitted so haven't been used yet. The feel of them is very good though

The reason I didn't go with the silver alu ones is that once upon a time I had a car with an aluminium gearstick knob and it used to get burning hot in the Summer if I'd had to leave my car out in the sun and come back to it to drive off. It also used to feel freezing in very cold weather. Carbonfibre doesn't have those problems. Also it looks less in-yer-face but ETTO.

Alluminium paddles tend to shine and reflect on shiny things......... like baldness especially   :P

Rob is possibly languishing in a jail somewhere for import tax evasion on OSIR goods. Or perhaps the Hong Kong Triad caught up with him
