Title: New member here, but not new to Vw :) Edition 30 next week
Post by: keendean on November 27, 2010, 10:49:29 pm
Hi

I currently own a Mk IV Anni Tdi, I bought this after we had our first son and said goodbye to petrol, and thought it was time to be sensible, but previously owned years and years ago, a MkI  Gti Campaign, a MkII 16V, a MK2 in Oak Green 16V Turbo Technics conversion, two Golf Vr6's, a Corrado 275bhp Vr6 with a ZF  Engineering charger, a Mk3 Gti 8v, I think that's Vw, plus a couple of S3's, LCR, plus a few modified Scoobies RB5, P1 300bhp, two S2000's,Evo VI RSX 380bhp, Clio V6, but to cut a long story short was going to buy an M3 convertible, but decided on a Edition 30 in grey that I pick up next week, I wanted CW, but just could not justify the extra money, that and I honestly could not afford it :(
So I'm planning 20mm drop, and a remap and decent induction, if when I have the money :)

Seems a friendly forum, and really useful, just checked out the FAQ, the only thing I'm gutted about, is the low spec my car seems to be, I wanted tinted rear, arm rest and Xenons, but none of them,  so will have to retro fit, so will want to want to know the best after market Xenon kit out there.  I have bought the car without seeing it, and hope it is a Uk car, I'm going to confirm with Vw on Monday, and hope it has extras that I've not noticed, as I've only seen pics.
Anyway, back to petrol after 25k miles in my Anni, impulse buy and spent a good £500 on my anni last week, lets hope I like it !  Cheers, Dean

Thanks Rich, I hope so, my bank balance, and credit card is not liking it. Seems a good catch 300bhp and a golf, well FWD may be a catch ;)

Yeah, the Clio V6 was a PH1, so short lived, in the wet, I used to grit my teeth and hang on, one of my S2000's had an early demise on a very wet day, so sort of gave up with the whole RWD thing, and sort of ruled out the M3.   Can't wait to get a nice new Golf, my mate commented today, that as std they are very quiet, as in no engine noise, he does drive a Boxster 3.2, so different kettle of fish I know, it has made me start thinking about a decent induction kit though :)

Welcome Dean  :happy2: Loving your 'petrol head' list of motors there mate, you'll fit in here nicely..
Regarding the zenons, i'm pretty sure the OEM versions can be retro fitted fairly easily, not sure how expensive it is though..
Greeners has done the conversion..

And so has JPC..

May be worth sending them a PM to find out more details..

Got some nice pics of the Corrado, but you need have them hosted and post a URL, they are all local to my PC.  When I was 18 and had my Mk1, it was so long ago, I don't think digital camera's were invented ;)
