Title: Hello from Edition 30 owner
Post by: csman on November 28, 2010, 01:33:33 pm
Hi there,

By way of intro I have had an Edition 30 now for 6 months and just done Superchips stage 1 and very happy.  Only downside is a slipping clutch which is being addressed a week on Monday with a new DMF, coverplate and Sachs Orgainic Clutch.

Interested in your views on this set-up as it seems to be the cause of much debate as to whether the DMF will stand up to 300 BHP and associated torque.

BTW I don't seem to be able to reply to a for sale thread as the button is not there.  Is this because I am a new member?

Thanks,

csman

Hi and welcome. As above, pics are mandatory!

I think the problem with SMF is the perceived noisey chatter and vibrations.

Hopefully worked out how to get pics on.  Here's the rear view showing my first mod which was a matt black wrap of the rear valance.  I saw this on another edition 30 (painted in gloss) and thought it made the edition 30 a bit more sporty looking than colour coded approach and easily reverseable.

What do you think?

Was a relatively low cost reverseable mod (quoted between £60-100 and I paid around £70)

This is the other ride used mainly at the weekend (997 C4S Cab).  The coupe in the background was also mine and this pic was the day I traded it in for the cab!

Ha!  The way I figure it if I owe the bank £5K it's my problem, if I owe them £5m it's their problem!

Mk5 holds its own against Porsche though
