cheers chaps & none ment. :happy2:

End of a long day & wifey going on wanting them on asap (its her car), she has never worried about her cars in the past and the past two have been new.

Buy her a 2yo Ed30 and its turned into some kinda forth child to her & she has become VERY protective over it.

Very strange..........................

I am not wanting anything less than factory fit look & Dealer is quoting them as VW part & colour matched in steel grey.

ta for the pic's, I will try and pop into dealer today.

have a good day ya p*#s taking testosteron pumped jessies

Have to be honest and say that the factory sensors are really neat and flush fitting. However, my local stealer has fitted a few of these to golfs and passatts as aftermarket, and to be honest the sensors used look crap.

They are bigger then the factory ones and don't sit as flush (seem to fit over the bumper skin rather then in it (if you know what I mean). Just didn't look right.

I'm sure they worked just as well but couldn't understand why they can't use the factory ones ?

Thats what I needed to know buddy & fits my concerns.

Right.......they need to fit factory spec'd ones & nothing else.

I have those girly sensors in mine, added by the original owner (who was a woman).  And they have gone wrong three times so far with the same sensor being broke each time.  Replaced under warrenty twice but now its out they want to charge me money to remove the rear bumper just to look at them.  Even though the computers says its the same sensor.

They are still broke and not going to be fixed, I would recommend turning your head its cheaper in the long run.  Electronic things just go wrong.   Just stop when it goes crunch!

the other option may be to try and find a small aftermarket kit to be fitted onto the license plate/holder  or under the bumper thereby negating the need to touch the rear bumper + colour matching issues.
Most are just plain fugly but there may be a small enough kit out there to be enough to stop your loved one hiting a plant pot ;-)

(in fact a quick check reveals
http://www.wirelessparkingsensors.co.uk/index.php?product_id=703635&option=Prod_detail&image_id=544161
available in black/silver/white , what colours your car?)

Just be careful you dont spoil the rear end

I'm having a set of parking sensors fitted on Monday.

Contacted my mate at my local VW Dealers and he recommended another place just down the road (apparently VW get him to do a lot of this kind of work).  He uses either a genuine VW kit or he has an alternative - which he said VW have been preferring to their own kit.  So i'm having that one done.

Flush mounted sensors, colour coded, fully fitted for just shy of £260 inc. VAT.

Will post up once it's done.

Pitch3110 had a look at the factory fit ones on our pirelli (same bumper) and they are recessed like manu_r32's boot pic

since we've had them on both cars her reverse parking has improved no end, just need to get her some sensors to the wheels to stop her f#cking kerbing them now

I went to a company in Sussex called "Highdown Car Audio" - they have a website so you can find where they are, etc.

The parking sensor kit is the "Cobra Parkmaster 4" kit.

Hope that helps.

Hmmm, the Cobra Parkmaster kits are the same as the VW Accessory kits (Cobra make the aftermarkets for most car companies out there) so the fitter must modify them somewhat

This is how they normally look: http://www.automaterialenreijnders.nl/osc/images/Cobra%20park.jpg

Tom - I was offered 2 different sets of sensors based around the same kit.  The first ones were much more like the ones in your link, the ones I have were the alternative (and preferred choice) and they sit much more flush with the bumper.

I spoke to my mate at VW before going to Highdown as I originally wanted VW to supply and fit some, but he informed me that they always use Highdown for these kinds of jobs.  According to Highdown, most of the ones he fits make use of the same type of sensors that I've got, as they look better when installed.

Thanks, Soundlab.

A bit too far for me I'm in London.  Hence the need for the sensors.

I found another company here in London called auto audio http://www.autoaudio.uk.com, I spoke to them on the phone they use laserline eps 4006 its a bit dearer at £250 +vat painted and fitted.

http://www.autoaudio.uk.com/services/exteriorparkingsensors.php

Will be checking them out at some point as they said that I have to see in person how good they are.

Thanks
