As they are a pain to get at to remove them, anyone know if the front Halogen headlamp unit indicator bulbs (which I know are 12V PY 21W units) are offset pin or not.
There seems to be 2 types at my local motor factor and my luck I would buy the wrong ones. I'm changing the standard orange bulbs (at last) to chrome ones to avoid that unsightly Orange effect in the light casings.

Yes Andrew they are offset pins.
120 degree I think.

i dont think you`ll lose the `fried egg` look mate as the orange part is a lense built into the light iirc

Is it Brett.... oh bugger, there goes that idea then
Lee, thanks also for confirming the pin arrangement :happy2:

Are you sure you're doing it right? Front indicators on halogens were the easiest bulbs out of all for me to change! :stupid:

To be honest stealth I've never tried. I just assumed with the sidelights being an absolute b*tch, that the indicators may have been as well ?
Too bloody cold at the moment to mess about and find out, but I've just purchased a set of black headlights off Saint Steve, so I'll be able to have a proper look when they arrive.

Im sure it is andrew, because i looked into the same thing a while back and found that the orange comes from a lense fitted in the light unit. you may find the indicator bulbs are just clear bulbs when you remove them :happy2:

The sidelights are a pain. Even the dipped/mains are more difficult to change than the indicator lights. The indicator bulbs sit on a base which has a handle. Twist the handle, withdraw the bulb+holder, pop out the bulb and swap it. Simples.
