When i was 21 i bought a Brand New Saxo VTR which was my first proper performance car! Was a cracking little motor could have just done with a bit more grunt but i couldnt afford the insurance on a VTS at the time. VTR came with 2 years free insurance.

21 with a gti? whats wrong with a nova? :signLOL: have to say, hot hatches are better suited for twenty somethings, problem is when you get to thirty something, got kids (ie less money) had loads of hot hatches, your ready for a change and cant really justify an elise :signLOL:
-

....There weren't any hot hatches when I was in my twenty somethings. My Mk5 GTI is my first hatch and I find it the best allrounder I've ever had. I'm not interested in family saloons - Most are boring.
My father had a white Mk1 but that was when we lived in Athens.
-
i agree Robin, they are great allrounders :happy2: just after a few you fancy a change.

....But you got a VeeDub, Andy :happy2:
Crikey! 4+1 kids. How old is your eldest?
-
25 and the misses is 22, had the GTi for 10months.
had a focus ST before it and the better half was 19 when we had that. she got says she got some funny looks from guys when they seen a wee lassie jumpin out of a 2.5 turbo, which i quite believe.
She prefers the Focus, and I am still on the fence, after 10months, Golf is nicer inside without a doubt. Focus sounds better in my opinion.
If i could afford to put petrol in both of them then I would have both.
whats this insurance thing a few of you have been talking about, is this something I should have. :signLOL:
Only Joking insurance was actually dearer for the golf than the focus, which I was surprised at with the focus bein a bigger engine, more powerful less doors and obviously we were younger when getting quotes.

....I asked because I was wondering how you fit your whole family in the Golf. Fortunately most teenagers don't want to go out with their parents much.
