Car at an oil change at 9k miles this week. But forgot to ask about getting the air filter done at the same time.
How much are the air filters? Might go down this weekend and buy a new one. Car feels 'stuffy' and less powerful.
Also, any other filters I should change?
Car was on LL but they've now changed it to T+D. Anything else I should have done at the first service?

air filter £21ish from my stealers, booked in today for service + brake fluid change + air filter + pollen filter
TOTAL £264 :scared:
was gonna do plugs too but they wanted another £80 :sick: do them next serive methinks :chicken:

If you car has only done 9k then you are unlikely to need an air filter change unless you live in a very dusty region.

Not very handy with a spanner, couldnt even get the engine cover off the other day! NOOB :signLOL:

Hi STEALTHWOLF,
Suggest replacing the stock air with an induction kit. It'll cost more in the outset - but it will mean no more filter changes, a deeper tone from the engine, and an extra bhp or two performance.
I recommend a PiperCross Viper Kit. I have had this fitted for the past 3 months and it works very nicely.

If you didn't want to go down that route, you could replace the panel filter with a more free-flowing one. Again, this lasts for the life-time of the car:

Oh yeah, taking the engine cover should not be too hard - you just need to be confident. Once you have the air flow pipes disconnected - you simply yank at it. The engine cover is stuck on with around 5 or 6 rubber bungs...

Yeah I've got the 'air filter change' and 'removing engine cover' tutorials bookmarked.
I would love to go down the CAI route but want to use something that means I can keep the engine over on, rather than taking it off completely or, worse (IMO), using a 'half-sized' one.
Think I mentioned elsewhere, I was thinking of carbonio + panel filter but T_T shot down that idea. Anyone got any better ideas?

Incidentally, the PiperCross kit integrates with the existing engine cover.
