Title: RCD300

I'm sure this has been asked a few times? would like some clarification before i buy the items.

My Gti is 2006 and has factory RCD300 Stereo with CD changer in armrest.

I want to know if i can just upgrade to RCD310 without any additional requirements as i like to burn MP3 discs and after better sound quality?

also will my cd changer work with this also?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.  :smiley:

Chances are you will also need to replace your Canbus Gateway due to the battery drain issue.

I've  just done this on my MY07 GT TDI. As far as mine was concerned it has been 'plug n play'. I use the car daily so I'll see if I get any battery drain issues when I leave it a while. Mine is a later car with the black grill and rear tints so mine might have the updated can-bus thing.  :happy2:

After fitting my (now sold) RCD510 I experienced no issues at all for just over a week before the battery went flat which royaly hacked me off!

My RCD-510 and k gateway combo has been fine.  :smiley:
