Title: Wired tax disc holder?

Afternoon all, can anyone tell me whether the tax disc in my Gti is anything to do with the sat nav?! It has a wire running from it that I can't see where it goes. The car did have a phone kit installed previously, if it was for this I'm happy to just give the wire a chop so I can change the holder.

 Also is the front pillar airbag wire black as this is peeping out from behind the passenger pillar too! Might just tuck that one back in.

Will be for a handsfree kit that the car has had at somepoint.

I've gambled and pulled the wire out from behind the pillar, hopefully it was from the microphone and not the airbag!

The tax holder bit is the aerial for handsfree so should be fine.
