Hi just a quick question had my car in the vw garage recently to get my hand break adjusted 2 days later driving in the snow I had an awful screeching like my exhaust was dragging on the road.
So I got home which luckily for me was only road the corner and had a look pin pointed that it was my rear break the same thing happened last year, they took the break apart and said they found no problem so this time I just gave the disk shield if that’s the correct term a little shake and the noise stopped. I went on a little drive but when I reached my destination I checked the break and bit of brown gunk came out around the disk.
Has anyone ever had problems of grit or stones getting stuck in there break disk or could this been something more serious?
Any help would be good
Thanks
Sorry for the long explanation

Hi. I have a similar problem and cannot find out what it is. If the car has not been driven in a few hours the sound is extremely worse. For instance, on start up its ok , but once i start moving "but only when i turn right" i get this massive screeching sound. its sounds like its coming from the right front. The sound seems to detioriate as time passed but its there again the next morning> Does anyone have any answers to what this could be please???
Also, i had the car mapped 40,000 miles ago. Its a mk5 gti 07", only recently there has been a sudden loss in power. If i had to guess a figure its seems to be running around the 140-150bhp barrier but sometimes the turbo is completely gone and there is no power at all. I had the boost sensors replaced but this didnt fix anything. Any Ideas on what it could be?
