Title: MK2 TT alloys fit?
Post by: holty on December 21, 2010, 11:55:51 am
Really fancy a change at the moment and got my eye on some MK2 TT alloys. Before i make the plunge - anyone know if the following would fit?

9J x 18 H2 ET52 with 245/40/18 tyres

Not sure if they would rub under the arches?  :xmassmiley:

Hmm, might be a little close to the strut, you may need to space it slightly?

245/40s are going to be a little tall too, speedo might over-read even more than they do anyway and it might tramline a bit.

Had a feeling it might be too tight! I guess the only other option is fitting some stretched tyres?

My track tyres were a 235/40 on an 18" ET47 and were fine, tweaking them to come into line with this will be fine I'm sure.

When I tried my 8.5in ET42 wheels on the car the wheels were quite close to the strut so I reckon you would be very close or maybe touching with that width and high offset.
