100 cell cat might give you a fault on the O2 sensors, they will need spacers if you do :happy2:
-
There's no reason why you can't leave the cover off completely when fitting a CAI.

ive left my engine cover off and iv grown to like it with no cover on :happy2:

Hi Tom,
I can only offer info about the Forge Twintake. As others have posted, it's very very well made and fits extremely well. You can enjoy hearing it but it's not over noisey imo. Crikey! it's been a whole year since I installed my Twintake. Absolutely no problems whatsoever with mine and I haven't heard of any probs. Just make sure the filters are orientated the recommended way.

It's surprising how much splashing etc reaches the engine bay and so I'd recommend an engine cover - It's not critical but. An oem one can be simply adapted by skillfully using a dremel. NeilM went a step further and has written it up with pics. I converted an Evoms cover.

RR's Evoms cover mod: http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,11702.0.html
Hoping this helps
