Hello Guys,
Hope you all had a good Xmas.
A newbie, hoping someone can answer my questions please.
I've just recently upgraded my MFD2 head unit to an RNS 510 + Skoda 729B bluetooth unit and have noticed some changes in what now does and what used to display in the highline.
Prior to the change, the MFD2, when in 'NAV mode' would indicate turn direction in the highline display, when in 'Radio mode' it would display station, i.e. Radio1, BBC2, BBC4, etc. and subsequent presses of the MFSW menu/arrow buttons would offer, average mpg, journey time, outside temp, miles 'til re-fuel, speed warning etc...
On changing to the RNS 510 + Skoda 729B bluetooth I have all the phone integration I could wish for, displaying address book, recent call lists etc. in both the 510 and the highline, phone operation from the MFSW with 'voice control' from pressing the star/mute button. But alas, when in 'NAV mode' no more highline display, on pressing the MFSW menu button there is no longer an 'Audio' screen either just average mpg, journey time, outside temp, miles 'til re-fuel, speed warning.
Question: Is this the normal characteristics of the RNS 510 + Skoda 729B setup or is there some VCDS coding adrift somewhere?
Any help greatly appreciated.

It's possible the Nav is coded for BAP Protocol.
Have you scanned it with VCDS?

Thanks for the quick response, I had a friend fit them both 2 days ago while I sat in the back seats drinking tea!...but he did make several changes in VCDS. Unsure what BAP Protocol is? It's paired with an Iphone 4 and that works fine, do I need to pay him another visit?

BAP protocol is related to the way the RNS communicates with the MFD.

Has Stu said make sure bit 0 and bit 7 is unticked then reset the RNS by the top left 2 buttons and the outer top right button at the same time.
